Any chance we just play Finn in his best position to replace Worps rather than bringing in Huss or Frenchy?

Wiz in for Worps and move Finn in centre. I’d really like to see if he can perform in there like he does when he goes back to Box Hill.

I’d like to see Scrimmers back too, but for who I’m not sure.🤔
Finn's disposal is too poor though. And really doesn't deserve to hold his spot with Watson and Scrimshaw available.

Only 2 kicks against dogs, 1 of which a terrible shank.

He was given a full game last week and simply didn't grab the opportunity.
For structure (and being the last game before the bye) he might stay but unfortunately, for the future, the coaching staff need to look elsewhere. With confidence, Butler should probably replace him moving forward.

If Finn's handballing was okay I would almost be willing to wear the erratic kicking in exchange for his running and defensive pressure.

But in some ways his handballing is even worse than his kicking, he has a bad habit of handballing to a teammate who is the worst option and putting them under the pump.

Makes me think his disposal issues are less technical and more that he struggles to process options in his head quick enough in a game scenario.

It's a real pity as he had a good finals series last year and I thought maybe the penny had dropped but his disposal has not been AFL standard in 2025 to be honest.

Yeah it's a shame, he has a lot of weapons that could make him a good player but this year there have been too many bad moments.

I also don't like the role he's playing. He should either be a midfielder or a tagger. At Box Hill he looks a level above as a ball winning mid, at AFL he is the best tagger in the comp.

But sometimes even his effective disposals are loopy and put players under more pressure. I can't remember the game but there was one where he was in space kicking into 50 to an open player on the break, it was a high kick that missed the target. We got the ball and next possession but it was a ground ball get and then rushed handball. I think this goes in stats as an effective kick. But if it were Newcombe taking that kick inside 50 it would have been a mark to the running player and run into an open goal.

I agree, our current usage of Finn as a high half forward / utility doesn't really play to his strengths as he is pretty much the last player we want with the ball in hand in space kicking into our forward 50 or being a link man on the wing.

It could be worth a try to throw him in the middle with Worps missing and see how he goes as a inside mid. Either that or tag Dawson.

Hasn't tagged all year.
True - and I'm still struggling to understand why.

Ed Langdon shackled N.Daicos last Monday and the Dees almost won the game. Using Langdon didn't appear to hinder the Dees' gameplan or structure in any way - indeed, it seemed to have helped!

Cameron Ling, the best tagger in the game when he was playing, played a critical role in helping the Cats to win three flags in 5 years.

We have arguably the best tagger in the game today but we don't use him in that role. Why, oh why?

Going off of Hawk Insiders are we thinking the changes will be something like the below? It would seem that Ramsden will retain his spot as the chop out that he gave Meek allowed him to be more effective throughout the game and not get burnt out early which is what has been happening as the season has worn on.

INS – Watson, Scrimshaw
OUTS – Worpel (inj), CJ

CJ as sub is the ideal.

Finn still tags in most games it's just not a 'go into bed with them the night before' kinda role like it was in previous years. More of a cooling, defensive role a la Nash.

Clearly Sam likes what he brings from that perspective, even with less of those full shutdown tags, but Finn has had a poor season offensively, unfortunately. Terrific depth/role player but at full fitness hard to see him getting a game in the 22.

Closest like-for-like replacement for Worps.

Too good for the twos but hasn't yet done enough to warrant a regular place in the AFL side. I'm still a believer though and reckon his near-elite clean hands in close is a significant point of difference that will eventually make him an effective regular at the level. I just hope it's with us and not elsewhere.

Go get 'em, Henry!
