Scoring off turnover seems to be the buzz term of the season

Against good teams who have strong reputations in this area, we seem to aim to minimise turnover opportunities

Collingwood were a bit the same vs us. Was a bit of a stalemate in some ways, not just due to the conditions.

It makes sense to a degree but do we think we can beat the best teams in an arm wrestle? Outlast them, out-muscle them, win the territory battle, grind.

I think our point of difference is speed, attack, play on, aggressive options, calculated risks. We play this way against lesser teams and rack up good numbers but are a bit more cautious in bigger games

Hopefully Draper comes in.

Given the matchups and weather I agree a bit with Mark Bickley, we may not need Butts this week and potentially go the extra small
Most teams seem to be reluctant to alter their structure regardless of weather.

Last week Brisbane brought in first gamer, Ty Gallop, to replace Darcy Gardiner and play as a tall forward /back up ruckman. When he was replaced by small forward Deven Robertson late in the third quarter it made sense for us to replace Butts with Brodie Smith.

Hawthorn used three tall forwards last week, Ramsden (who replaced Sicily), Chol and Gunston. The forecast is for dry conditions, very little wind and bloody cold (0-2 degrees). If Fog is fit then I expect both teams to have 3 tall/marking forwards which means Butts remains,

The most likely change is

In - Draper

Out - Peatling.

Smith might be sub again ………..or possibly Murphy 😱.

Based on previous Nicks' choices, the "most likely" change is Murphy (experience) IN for Peatling.

If Nicks selects Draper for Peatling, even I would have to say Nicks is learning to change.

I reckon moving Jones into the midfield last week was all about pressing his case for a recall.

Not that I believe he should get one mind you.

We don't play people in the midfield in the SANFL with any eye to getting them into the best 22/development/whatever else. Much like the AFL side, winning the next game is all that matters.

It's most likely Draper for Peatling, seeing we've been quite fond of using Draper as an inside midfielder.

Id be happy enough with that, im just not sure the messaging Nicks gave last week was that of a coach ready to bring Sid straight back in.

You might be right.
From the AFC website: " Jones gave a full four quarter performance, able to limit South Adelaide’s ball movement out of the centre, while being relentless in his endeavour to win the pill, laying a game-high 15 tackles.

“He got an opportunity on the ball today, we wanted to put him in the fight because he is a competitive player and I am glad we did,” Wright said. ".
Jones, Draper (especially second half vs. South), Edwards ... but also Murphy ... were reported to have played well.

I'd prefer any of the other three, to Murphy, in this order --- Draper, Edwards, Jones, Murphy.

Murphy in would be dumb. Bond in would be too many defenders.

Neither option seems great to be honest. There are better options than Murphy and Bond means too many defenders from a team balance perspective.
Maybe Bond in for Butts? Hawks don't have many tall forwards.

We could always drop a defender, Gunston and Chol are all theyve got as far as talls go.
