Coaching for what we are will lead no where. This why teams get stuck in the 8th - 13th cycle.

Coaching for what he wants will get us a flag. If the players can’t do it, get new damn players I say.
I would kill to be stuck in the 8th-13th cycle. We've gotta lose this notion that our rebuild is somehow more legitimate than everyone else's just because it's taken us thirty billion years

No thanks. Relying on false hope week after week. We were there for 20 years and I don’t wish to go back. Would rather be in rebuild mode to aim big.

Bro, at least the footy was enjoyable to watch every second or third week. How many times have we had a properly good time at the footy since 2020? Two?

And you're just ignoring the entire premise: that 'rebuilding properly,' with unfathomable levels of shit, will not necessarily translate to anything.

Seriously strange opinions on here. If it meant we never sunk to these lows, I'd take no flags, but the odd finals win, here and there for sure. This has been torturous. Laidley-Scott eras were not torturous, and if you say so you have a bias against them

Squint away, mate. We're historical right now. Potentially pulling out of it, but I've been burned too much to claim that unequivocally. There is no proper blueprint for a rebuild. We claim on here that the fact we've been so shit means we'll be awesome again automatically. That's false

Also, the difference in jubilation after a standard win compared to a landmark win is negligible. After Liverpool won the Carabao Cup in a shootout, I was ****ing pumped. I couldn't have been much more pumped if they'd won the Champions League.

I just want to enjoy winning again. An earned win, without large periods of ammos level footy, sparks joy. I just want that back

Not so strange really.

We exist today because of what happened in the premiership winning eras of the 70's and 90's.

Rightly or wrongly, it will be premierships or bust for our Club.

Do we? The Dogs still existed in the late 90s/early 2000s despite doing **** all until then. The Saints the same, to an even greater extent. We've been deprived. I just want some scoreboard (shudder) nourishment

I'm pretty confident we do fwiw.

Moving stupidly towards 19 teams, and the AFL's obsession with weekly games in each of the Northern markets, will put significant pressure on the smaller Victorian Clubs in the next period.

It could be musical chairs moments for a few Clubs.

Yeah. That's fair enough

I'd take no flags
If we had to do this for another 5 years for a single flag I would take that as an option over never having a flag again.

There is simply no outcome where I would ever opt for where flags were off the table.

bits and pieces wins and mid table death are and will always be f***ed.

Right where the AFL want us to be. Not totally crap but not winning anything of worth. Just making up the numbers. The st Kilda forever shithole. I didn’t sit through the last few years just to take a shortcut and get back to no man’s land.

Once again, no thanks.

Happy to keep rebuilding and trying until we have something that can get a flag.

The biggest reason we were stuck in no mans land was because of Brad Scott and his inflexibility, not because there is an iron law that magically caps your performance at 6-8th if you don't serve your penance with a once-in-a-century style rebuild.

I know early days it was a good way of justifying a rebuild and now serves to provide comfort with how shit we've been but there is absolutely no reason you can't elevate from mid to upper levels of the ladder with savvy drafting, trading, and gameplan / player management.

In 23 JZ and cunners played Freo
13 different players yesterday
Without paying too much attention I would guess this is nothing like most other teams
Not unreasonable to expect duursma and whitlock with some hope of Goater and george
Stephens and Hardeman stepping up possibly Hansen is changing the look of the side
We are starting to look quick

Heart-warming tribute to Bunbury premiership hero before historic AFL clash

There was a special and heart-warming tribute to a late Bunbury Football Club premiership hero ahead of Sunday’s historic AFL clash between North Melbourne and West Coast at Hands Oval.

Scott Hough, a much-loved Bunbury life member and North Melbourne fan, died in 2023 after a three-year battle with motor neurone disease.

In a beautiful moment ahead of Sunday's game, Hough’s two children – Liam and Mila - had the opportunity to run out with their beloved Roos team before the first ever AFL game for premiership points in the town.

To make the family’s day even more special, the Roos got up in a thriller.
