Looks like he has packed on the ....

Seriously, atm he is a rake.

So far, it is one collision and 1 year out of footy. i'm going to cross my fingers for him.

This has to be the smallest injury list for this time of year in many a year. If we can turn the corner soon maybe all is not lost for 2025. Hey, I'm hoping more than expecting.

I think you're right but I don't blame you especially with that user name

I don’t wanna be a downer. But I expected to see some upper body muscle growth, unless it’s uber cautious and they don’t wanna increase weight on his knee but thought muscle growth was already a battle for him so a few months of pure upper body focus in the weights room I thought would do well..
If he wants advice on putting on upper body mass, I am an expert...

Looks like he’s put on a bit of weight. If you’re thinking of comparing him to Mil Hanna and how he returned after rupturing his ACL in his first game. Mil was 20 when he did his. So he’d almost finished filling out by then.

He’s definitely added a few kg to his upper body. Absolutely. Like Jimmae said, off a low base. He’s going to be much better off next year size wise.

Fox reporting at half time that McKay has cartilage issues in his knee. He may need surgery if it doesn't come good. Subjective but troublesome.
It wasn’t Fox - it was David Zita saying, although CFC believes he may be OK to go next week, if it doesn’t improve, he thinks it may need surgery.

We just came off the bye. If H needs a clean up, it should have been done in that window. Pressure for the now to keep Vossy afloat is false economy.

It may well be a false economy, time will tell.

For the moment, we still have some hope we can resurrect some form - into the 2nd half of games at least.

I think Today show just said Cerra has shown delayed concussion symptoms? Did they mean to say delayed assessment of concussion symptoms?

Injury Update 10th June …

Odd update this week!

UPDATES on two Blues leading into Round 14 …

Harry McKay (knee soreness)
  • Modified program
  • Availability: test

Lachie Cowan (hamstring)
  • Integrate into full training
  • Availability: Round 15-16
  • The Club will continue to build up his training loads, and will be further assessed once he completes a block of full training

Update 14th June :-

At this stage, Walsh’s timeline of recovery will see him aim to return to play in Rounds 19-20. “Sam was unable to complete yesterday’s main training session after reporting soreness in his foot, with further examination confirming a hot spot in his foot,” Carlton General Manager of Football Brad Lloyd said.

“This means Sam will need a period of recovery to allow his foot to settle before his he able to return to play.
“Given he does not require surgery, Sam will aim to return to the side in just over a month.”

Sam Walsh to miss the next 5-6 weeks with a hot spot in his foot.

The most disappointing thing about Walsh’s injuries to me, is that he was known through his entire juniors & first few years for his durability.

He was the bloke that was going to play every week, get 30 touches, take hits and be fresh to do it all again next week. The bloke that was going to take 2 weeks instead of 6 to return from an injury (he still does this tbf).

Now, he’s just another player of ours with superstar potential if he gets over his injuries.

Damn shame.

I’ve heard that one before with one of our players. Sam will probably need surgery in 7-8 weeks.
