Robbie Hansen Jnr’s last qtr was sensational!

There were other positives but wrapt for Robbie.
Rose coloured but sure. He had a couple of good touches. But has a lot of ground to make up - has mostly been terrible in afl. Lets see what happens. The problem us that he provides zero pressure. He got caught way out of position on wing right at end of game tracking the ball and his player in the structure was completely free. Its a liability. Not sure you can play afl
In that position if you dont tackle, dont chase, dont put your head over it or set up and cant cover space. At least not in our team.

FWIW you can absolutely see why RHJ keeps getting games even though he has some flaws to work out - his disposal is far and away ahead of most of the team. That kick to Larkey was perfect - literally the only kick available and he made it not only passable but undefendable. He had a couple of good moments, they just need to find ways to minimise the weakness in the contest and get it in his hands more often.

We owe Carlton an absolute mauling so I hope we dutifully deliver it.

People who think wins are everything are idiots.

That was a far more accurate demonstration of what we are capable of than last weeks miserable effort.
Agree completely with this.

last week was an embarrassment, tonight was actually a step forward but also affirmation that we can still rely on McDonald to lose crucial contests where he’s in an advantageous position.

I assume Pavlich was there for special comments. Those comments being explaining how Fremantle definitely deserve free kicks and should win in between self pleasuring himself. I'm actually not sure if he knew that there was another team out there tonight.

Let's be real, without being robbed by the umpires we win that game. Which is why you look back to last week and remember - a win, is a win, is a win. But you know, it was good to that old warhorse Fyfe come on and get caught holding the ball and get a couple of clean throws of the ball for old times sakes.
Three throws I counted. So sweet when FOS nailed him.

The good part of this ride is not far off. It might already be underway. The effort, heart and pressure that we have been building towards since the Carlton disaster came together tonight, but the footy Gods said not yet. But we are coming folks. We are coming.
If you’re not excited by what’s starting to happen Idk what to say.

He's a coward but in space he's actually a lot of fun to watch

Luke Parker is my favourite North Melbourne footballer of the last decade.

Next week will be instructive.

Typically we take little mini patches of form like this, soak up a bit of positive media sentiment and then shit in our supporters faces.

If we're true to recent patterns we'll play Carlton into form and lose by 50+.

Fingers crossed we actually take out a meaningful opponent with something on the line.

Rode that last quarter like a drug addict on crack.

It was electric, fast and dangerous football. Freo are frauds.
Freo are shit.

They didn’t deserve to win that game. Umpires handed them a 3/4 time lead and they just hung on.

A fairly umpired contest and it’s a 3-4 goal win.

Massive frauds.

At this stage honourable loss is not good enough.
I'm an idiot then.

If we finish with 3.5 wins for the season but a trailer load of 'accurate demonstrations of what we are capable of' it's a pointless season.

The team needs the psychological feedback of 4 points. Honourable losses don't provide that no matter how much players and supporters intellectualise them to.
Spot on. If every game was played out like tonight we'd have great effort but finish the year on 0 points.

Going into next year without winning more games will have a decent psychological impact I'd say

3 turning points that could have won us the game.

No HTB decision to Larkey in the goal square.
Fos's fresh air shot at goal
Larkeys shocking set shot for goal that he shanked badly.

But the improvement is there and so is the self belief that we can now run out games against better teams..Our self confidence is growing....

Cant wait for next weeks game...Bring it on!!!!

All the stats as well watching our on-field performances show we are an improving team, but I'm just as frustrated as previous seasons.

The "final step" in our development, winning the close games, seems to be the biggest and hardest step to overcome.
