The rumor is we floated in in the 23 off season. Then offered him a contract. He agreed in principle then got wind that we’d floated him and held off.

Ultimately he waited to announce his decision and that complicated it for us.

Seems like we ****ed up then he wasn’t very honest with us.
In the end we got massive overs for Battle. If that's how SOS and gubby played it then it's a win in my opinion.

And to be fair Stav said for months that he was leaving and we'd get band one.

How did we get massive overs ?
We were always getting the pick after our 1st pick
He finished 3rd in our B&F and the previous 2 years was top10s
Ask Wilkie if he would still like him there

Thanks, Gents. I can tell you the kid will be barracking for the Saints come hell or high water. Though I think it could be a form of intergenerational trauma haha

We all get frustrated in here because we love the club and want to see the boys do well and win a flag. Let's not take it out on each other. Healthy debate is warranted, but trading blows on who is an actual ITK or whatever is a waste of time and gets us nowhere.

Congrats mate. I can tell you from experience once you have kids saints wins and losses don’t matter nearly as much.
Unless you bring your kids up Saints supporters and they blame you for every loss and making them follow the Saints

I think pick 8 was a very good return for him. If you ask most neutrals they'd see it as overs. Hopefully we landed the pick with Tauru. Not saying he wasn't a very good player for ushe was and if the pick doesn't land then we lose, but the return was very good.

He did… after saying he was re signing for months.

We did get overs no question, still not sure it’s been for the best overall but time will tell Tauru looks a ripper

My youngster at the moment is so obsessed and used to losing that he's still keen to go to every game.

I'm like "are you sure you want to go this week mate?"

If we ever get good again he will lose his mind.

Weird way to build your list by getting rid of your good players who are in the age bracket we need
We won't know for a couple of years about the return,

You also have to put up the chain reaction. Being uncompetitive could lose us Nas and other young players that have lost faith in the rebuild.

This is perfect mate if he’s used to losing now ….Id say the only way is up …but I’m not truly sure that’s right …tell him to hang in there!

Can’t believe how relaxed everyone around here is at the moment

That just means that we have now all advanced to No. 7 in our Grief.

1. Shock and Denial:
This initial stage is characterized by a sense of numbness and disbelief, acting as a buffer against overwhelming emotions.

2. Pain and Guilt:
As the initial shock subsides, the reality of the loss sets in, bringing intense feelings of pain, sadness, and sometimes guilt.

3. Anger and Bargaining:
This stage involves feelings of anger, frustration, and a tendency to bargain, often seeking ways to regain control or reverse the loss.

4. Depression:
A deep sadness and withdrawal from life may occur as the full impact of the loss is realized.

5. The Upward Turn:
A gradual shift towards a more stable and peaceful mindset, as the intensity of negative emotions begins to lessen.

6. Reconstruction and Working Through:
People start to rebuild their lives and adjust to life without the lost person or thing, feeling less overwhelmed by emotions.

7. Acceptance and Hope:
The final stage where the reality of the loss is accepted, and a sense of peace and hope for the future emerges.

My daughter is a Saints fan, our whole family and her partner are Dogs fans. I didn't try hard to make my grandson a Saint.
I am showing him Cantetbury Bulldog games and he keeps wondering where is the red in their jerseys 😅

It’s fine, we’re playing the kids

Must be all that rain over west. You have a bit of an overload of sassiness tonight.... or this morning or what ever time of day you call it over there.
