I like to try predict the line up. So I'm feeling pretty confident that Josh Murphy will play. Not named for North Albury (has kicked 19 goals in the last 3 games)
So makes me think Hayes will be the carryover emg and wont play.
Ryan Eyre has been dropped (Named for Castlemaine)

There should be 14 listers minus the carry over (lets say Hayes. No way can they let Oscar be the carry over again and not play some sort of footy)

Mitchell
Demattia
Parker
TJ
Smit
Steene
Ryan
Cochran
West
Markov
Dean
Steele
Cox
Howes

Which leaves 9 extra spots.

Surely we beat Sandy. They have won 1 game.

Why isn't this at Victoria Park?
Not sure. But prob better its at AIA going by the state of the turf at vic oark the other night. Pit holes covered by sand everywhere.

1. Sam Glover
2. Brady Grey
3. Riley Mason
4. Josh Browne
5. Josh Bennetts
6. Christian Algeri
7. Max Mahoney

Can't see any of them not playing unless they're not available, so only a couple of extra spots to fill.
Only one I'm not sure about is Max. Usually I look up their local club to see if players are named, but Mansfield has the bye so can't tell lol
Then there is the question of the 23rd man. Would be a good time to debut Doug Kerr with the oakleigh bye.
We'll find out later this afternoon.

Josh Toovey not named for East Ringwood, so he could play or could be carry over emg.
Harry Kennedy you can add to the list likely to play as well.

Otten has made three changes to the side, with young AFL-listed tall Oscar Steene set to return after being named as an emergency in the AFL squad two weeks ago, while Josh Murphy and Josh Tovey also return to the side.

Riley Mason, Ned Byrne and Ryan Eyre make way in the side.

After another influential performance in the backline, Collingwood AFL defender Charlie Dean will look to back up his Round 11 performance which saw him named as Otten’s Coach’s MVP for a second time this season.

Remy Maclean, Angus Seivers, Harry Mahoney, Chad Mulvogue, Ryan Eyre and Riley Mason are the emergencies.

Had to be done given development trumps vfl players but geeze he’s stiff!
Yeah.
I thought they would try to find a solution to find connection with all the talls before doing that

Interesting Tom Mitchell at full forward

Wondering if that is a sign he might be a late afl inclusion?

With Mason dropped , it is interesting they replaced him with another key forward in Josh Murphy so not exactly being dropped to improve the forward balance

I mean sure Josh is a marking forward but more of a medium version.
Josh certainly deserved a call up after 19 goals in 3 games for North Albury, including 11 in one game.

I'm not convinced Mitchell will play at FF like the sheet suggests. At vfl training last night, Josh Tovey was leading out of the square. Maybe the two will be swapped?

Tom certainly didn't train in the forward line. So its hard to put too much stock into where players line up

it was only 7 days ago a few on here were launching case studies in to why Tommy McGuane was named forward for the jets

Yeah, but at least that was understandable given recruiters want to see an U18 player try in different position.
For Mitchell, I suppose if they do it, would be a last ditch effort to find a spot. I just haven't seen him play that role in training this week, so I guess I'm a bit skeptical that's the way it will go down.

Is Henry coming back from injury? Why is he playing 2s?
He was earlier in the year coming off a knee injury last year.
Looks like he played one game this year v dogs round 6 . Guessing be was sub as had 1 disposal. So in the vfl since
ETA: has played 9 vfl games this year. Out of favour?

Ross seems to be burying yet another promising talent. His last year in Freo was good

Is it unfair that I'm a bit unenthused about going to watch them at AIA? Always seems like the supporter experience is a bit of an afterthought

Spot On really

We play better with two Mahoneys.
