Hardly.

Saints general manager of football David Misson confirmed Phillipou had been carrying a plantaris issue since the club’s Round 12 clash with Melbourne in Alice Springs.

“He trained fully all week no problem, first warm up (today) no worries. As soon as he came out for that second warm up, he felt a sharp pain and said he couldn’t play,” Misson said.

He played against Gold Coast with it as well.

Not as down on Hill as everyone else seems to be. He at least created run and connection. Yep couple of loose kicks that missed but plenty doing that tonight.
Hill makes really poor decisions when under pressure, or even just perceived pressure, AND his disposal also thengoes to shit.

Early on he was on the run and outside of a chasing opponent. Rather than just run on and then have a shot on goal, he doubled back giving his opponent the edge.

About as good as we could have reasonably hoped for under the circumstances.

Amazing how much Higgo has dropped off. Was basically leading the Coleman up until 5 or so weeks ago but has been mostly invisible since. I wonder if he’s playing injured, as it’s a hell of a drop off otherwise.

28 goals from the first 10 games and 2 from the 4 since.

2.8 goals PG to 0.5.

Ya finally get Monty out of the side and then… 🤷

Pretty sure Steele was playing a negating role on Pendlebury for the majority of the game.
Exactly. Pendlebury got off to a flier (8 disposals by about half way through the first quarter), but had just 14 more for the remaining 3.5 quarters.

Big questions will need to be asked re next year in particular, but I’d suggest he did his job tonight.

He’s just too slow for modern footy these days overall tho.

Marshall and Steele are going backwards at a rate of knots and Higgins looks like he is trying to follow in their example.
Stocker seems to have inherited Jones' position of having his head taken off and not getting a free kick.
Higgins has been great all year one bad game against a bunch of arrogant pricks doesn’t mean he is going backwards been our only hope up forward most of the year

Absolute scum that lot. As much as I hate Carlton , cats. The absolute carry on about us as a club from those loser toothless dero’s was so grubby.
Well now you know why I gave you my ticket….
I just couldn’t face it 🤣🤣🤣

Much better showing. Good signs from Wilson, Tauru, Keeler, Hall, Caminiti, Sharman. Nas and Wilkie excellent as usual. Wood looks better forward these days. Marshall fought back.

How incredibly disappointing it was to see Pou out for Byrnes. How many times have our players reinjured themselves this year?

Hill and Byrnes are liabilities. I think Hill could get his form back, but Byrnes just isn't up to it. Don't know why Travaglia was sub again - to be honest I don't see much there but we took him at pick 8 so let's play him and see what he's got. 18% TOG isn't doing anything for his development.

Need a massive pre season from Keeler (and a new contract). I understand subbing him out but we needed that extra tall for structure.

I'm seriously filthy about Keeler getting pulled in a game when he is actually offering something, and then our stricture falls apart completely.
Lyon does so many dumb things it beggars belief. I cant even be bothered debating it, he sucks in this era.

Lots more talent on this list then we get credit for, just horrendous coaching structures. Hopefully one day we get a modern day coach, and we manage to put together a half decent medical staff and we might actually get somewhere.

I totally agree it wasnt a terrible effort against a highly skilled side, but once again our zoning defence was rubbish. Far too much space given to their players at times. All the teams who hang onto the ball with a kick mark game have pulled us apart - but Lyon/Enright keep going with the same rubbish plan.

I am completely over Brad Hill its time for him to play VFL.

Owens cant kick to save himself its so deflating watching him line up for goals he has NFI.

Jack Steele can find another club at seasons end as he obviously no longer cares about the Saints.

Hunter Clark could have a 20 metre start over every other midfielder in the comp and would come last. Because he is so slow to move he is always under pressure, which is a shame because otherwise he uses the ball well. He got out muscled by Steele Sidebottom at time tonight which is also damning.

Byrnes tries hard but his disposal is 3rd rate, should only be a backup VFL at best.

Taking Keeler off was an odd move...

I dont know if Lyon is tanking, but some of his personnel decisions are becoming more and more questionable.
He sure AF isnt tanking, couldnt be more desperate for a win. He has always been the most stubborn man in football. Once he has made up his mind you wont change it.

Owens will never play much mid time, he has made up his mind. Cant change it now. We are 5-9 after being 3-1. We are close to the worst side in the comp the last 10 weeks, and the list is WAY better then we are giving it credit for. Lyon is a disaster.

Don't get the doom and gloom after that loss...some really positive signs both short and long term

For those thinking that we dont need TDK see quarters 1 2 and 4.

We absolutely need to persist with Keiler. Another few preseasons and he could be an incredible FWD/Ruck.

Games like this highlight our inexperienced and lack of quality. Guys like Garcia, Boxshall and Henry have to start playing. They are the future. The longer Steele, Wood and McRae play, the longer it'll take for the young guys to develop and for us to know if they're worth persisting with.

FFS get Mich a kicking coach!!

Steele might be ineffective for us. But at the giants he would look pretty formidable.

He's lost a step and his inability to kick, play elsewhere or kick anything other than a chip or 40+ dump would render him a 7th or 8th best mid...

Yep thats the one that left me wondering but of course dim witted journos in presser didn’t ask it ….he was having a great game
Made zero sense and then we bombed it in …even dumber
I think Bolton goes …spud

Getting rid of Membrey has never made sense to me. Personally I think Ross marked his card the day he didnt turn up to the final. Hate seeing ex players doing well at other teams, it's like watching your ex with another guy, but wish the skunk well.
