The best thing from a supporter point of view is to not renew your membership. Then watch the club demand change. Too many comfortable people at the entire club.
For the first time ever, i didn't renew this year. I was so upset with the way we finished off the season last year, including the way we treated Matt Kennedy (our best clubman winner). I've been a supporter 30 years!

Ok then I hope you look forward to the next 3-4 years of 4-6 game winning seasons.

Fish rots from the head

Anything’s better than the aimless mess we’ve been stuck in for the last 12 months on and off field.

We went from dreaming of a premiership window to drifting in no-man’s-land faster than you can say “sacked coach.” Honestly, even if everything clicks for this list, do you reckon they’ve got the mental guts to climb the mountain and be there on GF day? I’m not holding my breath.

And if just being thereabouts is the ultimate aim for this club now then burning it to the ground isn't the worst idea. It's accepting the rot of clubs like St Kilda. Capable for a few years before sinking down the table and doing it all again.

I’m actually excited to see what direction Wright takes us in. Say what you want, but at least he’ll point us somewhere and give us a plan to rally behind. Success or failure, it’s better than the spineless, identity-less club we’ve turned into.

Right now, we stand for nothing off the field. No vision, no heart, no clue. It’s like our president’s just watching the chaos unfold, our head of footy wouldn’t know a good call if it bit him, and the CEO’s just coasting to a retirement payout.

Is it any wonder the rest of the club has no idea?

Don't assume Wright is the messiah.

The messiah complex has hurt us every time.
Wright is definitely no Meddi
The Priestley and Wright synergy should take the club forward given both their previous approach and successes.
Wright wont be a Messiah, he had dream drafts at the Hawks, an at the Pies he had a lot of guys like Derek Hine to help him and advise him.. He cannot rig the draft either. At best he can tinker at the edges. Just saying.

We can take advantage of our situation if we're smart enough next year...

Trade Harry to Sydney for 2025 * 2026 1sts..

Finish last, pack Walsh's bags as a free agent

Trade the 2026 1st we get for Harry next year for a very good player.

pick 1 + 2 + match the Cody bid.

There's 4-5 potential guns coming into the system by letting go of 2 of the overpaid pretenders...

The comments about gutting the list are silly. However difficult decisions have to be made. G.W. was the best man available

and he does have a vey impressive resume. He will be having sleepless nights, planning what he wants to do with our list.

TDK leaves, no brainer. One of H or Charlie, my preference is now C.C. be traded as well. Would prefer to keep Walshy,

but he could be shopped around. Trading two, maybe three of our stars, would open up enough cap space to recruit four or

five quality player's. I trust G.W. will take us in the Right direction.

Im not sure that stacks up. Cripps was 2nd in the AFLCA when Bolton was sacked and 2nd in the rising star the year malthouse was sacked. He was rubbish in Teagues last year but also the year before.
If memory serves in the match that got Bolts sacked, he was completely nullified by an Essendon first gamer...

He then played arguably his best game ever the next week under Teague against Brisbane

Not a good look

A lot of people see it this way. I don’t

I believe it can change quickly if done right. It will take some smart tough calls

We have a good core, some real talent coming through.

Get a good game plan and drilled structure in place and things can change very very quickly
I think we should be questioning our core soapy.

Who are our good core players and where were they against North and since July last year for that matter- we’ve won 8 games and lost 15.

Crippa is the shell of the record Brownlow winner of last year, along with a few others struggling like Curnow, Saad, Weitering….our core might not be as good as we think or once was.

I said it a couple of weeks ago and got laughed at, so I might as well do it again and really bring out the LOL’s.

Charlie Curnow had an ankle reconstruction in the offseason. He also had a screw removed from his knee. This knee being the one he smashed a few years ago and didn’t look like he would play again.

The man is not lazy. His body cannot do what he would like it to do. Sure… you can make an argument he shouldn’t be playing. Go for it.

And to those saying… “yeah but he was lazy and didn’t chase in 2023,” well, where were you in 2023? I can’t remember posts back then accusing him of being lazy (there may have been a small number of posters saying it). The vast majority didn’t accuse him of being lazy in 2023 because when his body is up for it, he isn’t lazy.

Charlie Curnow is not lazy. He is labouring under injury.

Injuries, lack of belief in game plan, been doing same thing for three years without results wears them down.

IMO Voss has pushed them as afar as he can with game plan and they have had enough as it’s not working.

They need a refresh of coaching and system

I still believe we have a lot of ability

Do you enjoy continuing bagging a team you supposedly support? It seems you do
Not having a go at you personally but you'd see a lot of comments like that on Facebook by people playing the look at what a superfan i am card. I'm not saying you are doing that but that's the vibe it gives out after a humiliation like that.

Some would argue the criticism has been more than well deserved over the course of the past twelve months. Of course criticism should never be personal but if you can't accept criticism when it's merited then the praise you get for winning and doing well is rendered meaningless imo.

So, the question is "What happens now?" Plenty of supporters seem to know what should or could happen. Clearly the on and off field environment is broken. On field performance is a reflection of off field performance. Will we see the ruthless version? Is Wright the rightman to bring this club to a place where we are respected. We are not respected as a club right now. Aswas mentioned in the media Carlton is feared by no one.
the bigger question is why hasn't anything changed since the Round 1 capitulation to the Tigers....

14 weeks latter - same lame, sub standard, clueless rubbish.

And that question (with no good answer) is why Voss (and his assistants) must be pushed out... or walk.

This is my train.
I'm onboard.

Honestly there is so much wrong with this club right now it is hard to see a fix. Our overpaid ‘stars’ have been playing like they have a grand final hangover for a full year now, off the back of showing a bit of potential and getting a bit of hype. You see it week after week - total show ponies - play 10-15 minutes of good football and then start tripping over their own massively inflated egos. List management has been abysmal for years, but each era of failure in the last 25 years has been punctuated by letting a player go for peanuts that we should have kept (Kennedy is that guy this time) whilst our ‘A’ grade players get treated/paid like they are about to deliver a premiership three-peat. Club needs a massive change of culture.

I’m spooked by the fear of us drafting another group of Dow, OBrien and Petreski-Seton with a pinch of Stocker. How many first round midfield picks can you torch?

I’m not sure we lost our soul, more so we didn’t adjust to the new world order of equalisation. IMO the big **** up has been not persevering with coaches. In the modern era a club can’t just appoint a new coach who brings in 3 new star players and improve results within 12 months like you could in the 80s. I reckon we were the last club to realise times had changed. Nowadays success is about building a strategy and sticking to it. That means alignment between the key people…President, CeO, Football Manager, List Manager and Coach…something we haven’t come close to achieving because, aside from the President (who at Carlton is effectively appointed by the Board) we keep changing the people in those key positions, especially Coach and E
CEO.

This.

And the overcorrection after having a few ratbags on the list.

I can't even be bothered
Like most here my weekends revolve around Carlton’s match day.

Just about Everything stops for this one game each weekend.

even so I turned the tv off around HT …just couldn’t bare to watch the atrocious efforts and system we ‘play’

🤦‍♂️

Charlie is barely going to be walking in 15yrs. Hes going to have pain management coming out his ears. "Fans" like to forget this when their horse isnt performing.

This by 1000.

I seem to remember Charlie doing that an awful lot too, but not this year and not for a while too
And i dont think it would matter which team he played for either.

He has the type of personality to put surfing life ahead of footy, and hes getting paid a shit tonne so why would he care either way?

Good luck to him, he is living a pretty stress free life, but its not helping our cause.

I think many of us have had to rethink - introduce new activities and diversions, change footy show related habits - find mental health strategies.
It's difficult for passionately engaged supporters. And not enough recognition by our club of what poor decisions and culture have done - rewarding loyalty...etc.

25 year consecutive member, but followed for a lot longer.

Not once has there been an attempt by the club to say thanks to many like me.
Never been invited to the rooms post game, or any tokens beyond iron on patches and medallions which let's face it, would have been better spent on a lunch for long term supporters with a player meet and greet..

Nope. That's only for those with plenty of money.
That's what our club values more than long term loyalty.
