Poor widdle Nicky daic daic, the only player to have ever been tagged.

I think that was an ideal game for us apart from injuries. We were competitive up until the last quarter, put games into the young guys and didn't compromise our draft position. The remainder of the season is one big opportunity to experiment now.

I think it's time we move Ro out of the ruck and stick him at CHF, he's the perfect size and has good hands, addressing a glaring need. I'd try Heath or Dodson in the ruck. Tim English debuted in his first season and he was a genuine bean pole, it won't hurt our guys either.

Owens could be such a weapon, but like others have mentioned, it's almost a surprise when he kicks a goal. If the club weren't willing to let Lloyd help King, I doubt they'll get someone for Owens.

Hill telegraphs his fakes and kicks, the opposition are reading him with ease now.

I've been critical of Wilson, but he was good last night. I thought he came back strong, a couple of times he stood under the ball with courage, really good stuff.

oh my god!
there was pushing off the ball

Can we just release Windy for the rest of the year as a pure mid. No more tagging. What difference does it make. In fact let Steele tag and windy play as a primary mid.
TBH I think that’s just shuffling deck chairs on the titanic. Whether one or the other is tagging there’s still going to be no damage with ball in hand, we need different names in there.

Higgins has been great all year one bad game against a bunch of arrogant pricks doesn’t mean he is going backwards been our only hope up forward most of the year
One game? He kicked 28 goals in his first 10 games of the year and 2 in the 4 games since.

His goals-per-game have dropped from 2.8, to 0.5 for the last month.

That’s less than 20% of his earlier goal output.

Effective disposals in his last 4 games: 3, 5, 6, 3.

It’s been quite a staggering dropoff.

I don't agree that Mitchito can't play midfield for the simple reason that he's used as an undersized ruck and does quite well. He may not have explosive speed but he does have strength and the ability to push through a tackle to release the ball from a stoppage.

I'd swap him and Steele. How can we develop a more dynamic midfield by only adding one young player, such as Boxshall, at a time? Keep Macrae and Windy, (but without a tagging role), in there but replace the others. It can't get worse, what is there to lose? Give the young blokes a licence to develop as a unit and maybe, just maybe, release the pressure from Steele to try to play a role that he's not presently able to perform.

We all know Byrnes gives a 100% effort, but that's all he offers. It was weird to not play Trav instead. Whatever role Byrnes had Trav could do better.

Absolutely agree to give Heath a run with Ro to the forward line. At the very least he would provide a big presence and allow Sharman, Higgo, Hall etc opportunities they currently don't have. As we seem to be incapable of kicking a low ball to a forward Ro would be able to contest inevitable the long high ball. Sharman is very highly skilled, has a high footy IQ and is a beautiful field kick. He would be more dynamic in a roaming CHF role.

Our ladder position provides the opportunity to try new roles for young players and if the senior blokes don't like it they can be traded. We would be asking them to help the team develop and not continuing to play a comfortable role that isn't providing team success.

Guarantee the coaches would be really stoked with what he's doing, the goal kicking is really frustrating but it'll get better. His competitiveness is second to none. Important to remember he didn't grow up playing as a key forward, still a very new role for him and he's still only 21.
Yep he’s great. I think we all agree.
But the goal kicking won’t just “get better” until it’s worked on. Hopefully the club is not sleeping on that. He did improve briefly towards the end of last season but it seems to be gone again.

To be fair it is a different balance though, Collard kicked 6 in 9 matches. Butler has 6 in 3 matches.

Just saw a lovely stat that we lead the league in conceding a goal within two mins of kicking one ourselves. We’ve had that happen 24 times this year. Extraordinary.
That to me is down to a lack of mental toughness and leadership
To give it straight back is soft
Maybe our players run back to the middle after we get a goal saying “fck I can’t believe we managed to kick straight!!…..” big exhale ….then oppo get one straight from clearance

What we REALLY need to prioritise is a kicking coach for Owens.
He is seriously deflating as a fan - I can only imagine what it does to his teammates.

He gets the ball which is great. But I’m only ever confident when he’s having a snap. It’s a real shame because he could be a winner for us.
Agree-have 0 confidience in his set shot abilitity along with Marshall Wood Higgins and Butler in fact the only 3 i have confidience in are Coops Phillipou and Hall

Fair to a degree, that said, Collard was still playing the same sort of role as Butler, taking up the same space. And Butler wasn’t playing in the first of those 3 effective disposals, no goal games. And last week he only played a half.

He’s gone right off the boil.

Funny how they’ll whine about a tagger tagging until the cows come home but they’ll ignore McStay tripping NWM, which used to be a suspension 10 years ago.

Personally waiting till Monday MRP wrap up, as basically intentional trip is minimum fine to see if they have brains or not.

is to say there's still some time before wanting to stab people with pitchforks and burn them with flame, so let the kiddies have their fun til their next sugar hit.

Lyon does so many dumb things it beggars belief. I cant even be bothered debating it, he sucks in this era.

Lots more talent on this list then we get credit for, just horrendous coaching structures. Hopefully one day we get a modern day coach, and we manage to put together a half decent medical staff and we might actually get somewhere.
I think Michael voss might be available.

Interesting but I don't really know how to interpret this. From what I can tell the next two after us are GWS (23) and Dogs (19) and they are going ok. The "best" teams at this stat are Essendon (13), Carlton (9), Port (8) and Richmond (8), not really the company we are aspiring to. I guess you need to kick goals in the first place to have this happen
