As one of those people you're referring to, I'll bite.

My issue with our media team is that the content has been lacking for every player outside of the same 4-5 players. So this is just more of the same. Errol Gulden gets a 20-minute doco about his recovery & rehab, whilst Harry Cunningham who only missed one less game than Gulden this year gets "plus the return of Harry Cunningham for the first time this season" tacked on the end of the caption of a team selection post.

I will say that the content has been better this year in terms of giving access to our players each week rather than sequestering them, but I also feel like our media department might as well change their names from sydneyswans on social media to just isaacheeneyerrolguldenchadwarnerbrodiegrundy, because it seems to be all they care about.

I screenshotted the Swans TikTok account a few weeks back and literally half of the posts were about Heeney.

Sorry but that is just an absolute joke and anyone who claims to be a Swans supporter shouldn't be OK with it. We are the Sydney Swans. Not the Five Sydney Swans. We have the rest of footy media to focus on the same 4-5 players. They absorb 99% of the non-Swans media's attention, the least our own media team could do is focus on the rest of the squad.

That's who this content is for. No one outside of diehard Swans and journos who have to cover the game (and who will already focus on Gulden anyway) will sit and watch 22 minues of Gulden doing rehab & recovery. It won't move the needle one bit in attracting any newcomers to the fanbase. All it does is insult the intelligence of actual Swans supporters by assuming we'll only care about content this extensive if it's of someone like Gulden.

Lastly, on the doco specifically, it's comical to think it a worthy subject. Gulden hurt his ankle and is back playing with ten games still to go. He didn't die and come back to life. It's absurd. I wonder how Cunningham feels that apparently his journey back, of a very similar length, wasn't worth documenting. I wonder how McDonald - facing the prospect of his entire season being a write-off - feels. I wonder how players who have done ACLs or multiple ACLs feel seeing such a fuss made of Gulden's 15-week injury. No one has the monopoly on struggles in footy, but read the room a bit. It's so disproportionate.

Sorry for the rant. Not having a go at you at all, but I am extremely passionate about this subject. It really pisses me off actually.
The purpose of it isn’t to provide info from across the entire team, as you know it’s to generate clicks and to secure sponsorship dollars…the players like Heeney get the most clicks…they would be nuts to ignore that. I don’t think these things are aimed at you or I but at the ones who love the likes of Heeney who devour social media regardless really of the actual relevance of the content

Swans transformation… 1 performance. I think we will see where we may be this weekend, I am bullish we might be able to get it done if the defensive structure holds, there was enough quick ball movement which wasn’t always clean, but still caused problems. If we perform well this weekend, talk of our transformation will be more relevant and provide some exciting footy for the rest of the year.

Let's be honest though, Heeney is the face of the club and puts asses in seats.

I still lol at the isaac heeney apology video last year then us getting pissy when toby greene mocked it lol

On AFL.com, discussion between our favourite reporter Sarah Olle and other bloke about Brodie G, who's been in stellar form lately, in fact is rated 10th best player in the league in past six weeks and is apparently favourite to win the Skilton this year.

Props to swans media for lifting their game, I don't understand a lot of the stuff especially on tiktok but something is better than nothing. I just want more Juzzy content, he's intentionally & unintentionally funny.

They can shove their eleventh hour fan service.

My last comment on this subject as I REALLY do not like it, as you can probably tell. Sorry DQ.
If you Really dont like it, then Dont watch, read, comment
