I pride myself on watching our games through to the (all too often bitter) end. However, during that fourth quarter I mostly found myself looking down at my tablet and learning Italian on Duolingo (maybe Dante Visentini triggered me?), while glancing up occasionally to see us register some late junk to ensure that the scoreboard flattered us once again.

Amidst that utter train wreck, I thought that the attitudes of Ollie and Boyd were admirable, and that Doc and Fantasia at least stayed moderately engaged, although the former continues to look fumbly and to make way too many mistakes. Nick Haynes

performed admirably amongst the carnage, and in amongst a dire midfield I thought that Hewett was very solid once again. Rounding out the clutching at straws positives, I also thought that our debutants showed something, although tbh I can’t be arsed articulating what it was.

Along with our coaches, our senior players and (nominal) leaders continue to disappoint massively, and in all honesty I can’t see a way forward that doesn’t involve breaking up this group, and adding in some fresh blood through some bold trading. Exactly who stays, goes, and comes in is way above my pay grade, but it appears that major changes are required if we’re going to turn this ship around.

Our lack of mid level players and lack.of depth is massively exposed when injured players are forced to play.

And when some of the senior players put up that shit, we in trouble.

The dumbell pay structure needs to be fixed! So we get some better spread of quality.

Counter argument

Drop players who are out of form or injured instead of carrying them. Carrying them makes more work for everyone else out there, and breaks down the minimal structure we have....

Weitering - clearly injured
Cripps - the guy looked like he was on his last legs because he is clearly still not well. (Should not have played)
Docherty - out the team
Acres - out the team

Also play the players in their natural positions instead of trying to put a square peg in a round hole...

Oh and how about running the ball.

To me these players look so lost on game plan, roles and positions. Puts you on the back foot before you even start

They weren't forced to play because of lack of depth. Cripps out Lord gets to play in his proper position and you can keep a Carroll in the team. HOF or even Young can be used to replace Weitering. If they were injured they definitely did not have to play. Just poor from the MC

And can someone legitimately tell me what has happened to Crippa?
It’s the biggest regression of a player that I have seen in a very long time.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I'm not even mad at the players tonight. Felt like they just hit the end of their rope. Like they've been running into the brick wall too many times, and tonight the brick wall won.

Nah mate that’s bullshit. These blokes have quit on two coaches now. who the **** are they to decide the game plan isn’t going to deliver results. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. That said the club has been take over by bad actors. There are no standards when it comes to the area that matters most at a footy club.
