Anytime I see a dumb comment 99% of the time it's been written by Waspy, bloke genuinely has no idea
I reckon 90% of people here (not me) wrote off two rucks; yet TDK was smashed in the hit out count, Vis should have kicked 3, and Port won by 50, so there is that too.

I also get misquoted a lot too, very convenient to suggest I said Richards is as big a spud as Mead when that is not what I said. I don't think PeacefulWarrior is a very intelligent person.

I reckon we set a club record for players wearing strapping and bandages last night. Aliir, Bergmann, Horne-Francis, Butters, Rozee, Powell-Pepper, Ratugolea, Jones, Liddy, Sweet and Visentini all had various body parts strapped. Rioli has
sweat bands.

The sign of a season plagued by injury.

Aliir and Horne-Francis were not fully fit which makes the effort all the more praiseworthy but Port have still only won one final term this season.

MRO says nothing to see here for Dante.

And somehow only Lachy Jones and Charlie Curnow were involved in a melee at half time...

If we beat Sydney and were even a small ounce of a finals chance, we will burn up so many tickets in pushing our players through injuries to make finals that we'd almost certainly crash and burn in glorious fashion in an elimination final.

I just hope they don't do to much long term damage ahead of next year to anyone with this season completely cooked.

It got lucky last night. With Weitering's ankle buggered from nearly snapping it last week, and the absolute ease of which we moved the ball, it added up to the luck Visentini needed to get involved. Even Lord in a similar situation would've kicked a bag. Lets see how it goes against the Lions. I bet you we'll get trounced.

I was hopeful Dante would cop a 1 week ban to save us from ourselves, but he has avoided suspension.

lol @ the faux toughness of the Carlton players starting a melee in response to distract from their pea-hearted performamce. They looked ****ing stupid at the time and even more so now.

I think you have forgotten how bad Lord was before being dropped, and if I’m not mistaken he’s done nothing in the SANFL to warrant a recall.

The Lions should beat Port two rucks or not, although if Vis can maintain a presence he might mean Andrews needs to be more accountable.

Georgiades also seems to be thriving as the main man.

Another good game from Esava. He’s the best mark in our team. Those strong pack marks take a lot of pressure off our defence. And he knows how to lay a tackle.

You can see his confidence is growing. He was even side stepping players last night.

Georgiadis is in career best form. On track to easily surpass his best goal return of 44 goals. Has already kicked 38.

I think he’s playing smarter. Not going for as many specky marks. Relying more on his fast leads.
Just needs to maintain a consistent routine and ball drop.

Sometimes he kicks from the in-step and other times he kicks where he runs to.

Sort that out and he will become a 10-15 goal better player.

A ripper game by Bergman. He’s so good to watch when he takes possession and sprints through corridor leaving his opponents behind. And he finished two of those runs with 50m+ goals.

I think midfield is his right position. Just more damaging when he plays as a mid.

Not much to review considering Carlton just didn’t rock up.

Tactically we were great
  • Bergman destroyed Cripps
  • two rucks worked
  • Alir set up well, allowing BZT to lock down and Sav to intercept
  • our outside mids actually worked up and down the ground and gave us some carry

For those slamming Boak, I think he provides some leadership and a mature body. Considering the youth in the size, utilising Boak, Wines, Aliir, etc will be crucial to allow guys like Richards, Sav, Sinn etc to develop.

And the two ruck ‘experiment’ isn’t perfect but perhaps the best option we’ve got. And they should get better at it as it’s persisted with. It’s also ensuring we don’t grind Vis into the ground as a young ruck by playing him solely week after week. And, just as Lord needs to develop his craft at AFL level because it’s hard at SANFL level, the same is true for Vis and Sweet who need to grow as players and can only really do this at AFL level.

Not having a 2m cooked bollard in his way this year helps.

Jase Burgoyne was very animated in pointing to the scoreboard when the players finally started to walk off after the melee.
