In - Garcia, Poulter

Garcia won't get to play his ideal role but can make an impact at half forward with a few stints through the middle, banging down the door at VFL level and ready to come back. Poulter has been really good for a while now and kicking goals, taking marks and running hard in his new forward role. Had a dodgy game up in Darwin disposal wise but deserves another crack.


Out - McNeil, Khamis

Harsh on Khamis but can't be the sub again and think the forward structure with the two talls and then English, Bont and Kennedy pushing forward is working well. Add Poulter to the mix as another tall option and I think that's plenty. McNeil not enough impact again and Sonny deserves a look in.

Possible - Coffield a chance to get dropped but I would personally give him another week. Was good last week, and poor this week second up after a long layoff at this level. If he comes out, may be a reprieve for Duryea who has been solid at VFL level, Sellwood would have been ideal if he had a few more VFL games under his belt.

Garcia could definitely become another West for us - but probably provide better forward 50 pressure. The kid’s got mongrel, tackling pressure, smarts and evasive skills. McNeil is not the answer, give Garcia a chance to make our second forward pocket his own.

This looks perfect IMO.
Garcia will provide more forward pressure than McNeil is currently & can be rolled into midfield if needed.

Could make a case for giving Jaques a go instead of Dolan, who can give us added defensive cover if we do drop Coff.

Yes i agree Sellwood would have been the perfect choice i never seen Sellwood play and don't know whats he like and the other player Zac walker have'int seen him play is he injured

Could we play Poulter as a defender in the coffield role?

I don't think that would make sense really, has trained all season in the VFL as a forward and showed some nice signs there. We have Selwood earmarked for that role I'm guessing competing with Coff and Cleary, but just hasn't had a healthy run in the VFL yet unfortunately

Walker played his first VFL game yesterday and looked really solid, showed some nice marking. He is still lightly built and wouldn't have the fitness base for AFL yet I wouldn't think. More of a chance for next year after a pre season at the club IMO.
