Mid East Israel attacks Iran. What are the likely consequences? How will it be resolved?

I thought you being Jewish would mean that you have a very clear understanding that collective punishment is a crime against humanity?

The irony of this point is that individual criminal responsibility is the key principle being violated behind collective punishment yet here is the poster advocating for national collective responsibility being stupid enough to like your post purely because he hates me.

The iranian regime has been directly involved in the mass murder of civilians with their drones in Ukraine.
Would the same logic apply to USA and Israel re: total destruction of Gaza?.

Im assuming you are referring to weapons supply

It's not just that their Iron Dome was getting penetrated, it is also that the Iron Dome has no answer to what Iran was firing at them.
You won't see pictures in most of the Western media, but other news agencies around the world are showing pictures of the damage in urban areas in places like Tel Aviv.

Israelis would have believed that their Iron Dome/govt would be able to protect them. Turns out, they are sitting ducks.
For that reason, IMO, their will be an exodus from Israel. The Israelis remaining will consist almost entirely of the extremist right wingers.

Bomb shelters are there for a reason. Noone gives a **** about the missiles or a little bit of damage.

Not everyone is a big chicken like you.

I cant read that.
In 2006, Palestinian self-determination elected a Hamas government.

It was a different government to the one that rule Gaza after mid 2007. Until you acknowledge that...
I never made that claim. That is an absurd thing to believe.

You may as well have made that claim.

Trying to give posters such as yourself an insight into equality.

I dont agree with the statement. If you had the intelligence to understand the question you'd realise that it's what Not Important infers and that ferball does not believe Palestinians have the capability of self determination.

Palestinian people who live in Gaza haven't had the capability of self determination since Hamas seized power in 2007.

Its like you want to frame all Palestinians, even those in the West bank as actively supporting Hamas all the time by voting for them regularly (even tho if the 2006 election was the last time the Gaza government changed it still doesn't mean much cost most Palestinians alive now weren't able to vote in that election cos they were too young.)

Is that what you're trying to do and if it is ... Why?

Those that live in the West Bank struggle with determination too because criminal scum from Israel keep invading the West bank and stealing their land or killing them with impunity and the Israeli state protects those criminal scum and represses West Bank Palestinian attempts at justice/retribution.

(And yes I know this is the thread about Israeli aggression against Iran, not Palestine, Lebanon, Sryria or Iraq but Zev is probably banned from all those threads.)

You know that having nukes and not using them does allow you leverage over your enemies right?
If Iran had nukes Israel does not bomb them. It is that simple. If Ukraine kept their nukes Russia does not invade them.

When Iran has nukes - and it will be soon - it will be because Israel and the USA drove them to get nukes.

Trump has completely screwed this up by tearing up Obama’s agreement and the Israelis have pounded the message home.

USA complete dominance in the region is over.

Why do you keep persisting with this garbage?

Which part of collective punishment is a crime against humanity do you not understand?

I thought you being Jewish would mean that you have a very clear understanding that collective punishment is a crime against humanity?

Which part of "ignoring the reality of modern war" do you and the rest of the progressive left to far left like to ignore?

Apart from the babies and young children and the most elderly and infirm, functionally, many civilians in the Palestinian Territories (which is the post-Oslo legal entity and not the fictitious "state of Palestine" -- the Arafatian fantasy which has no borders, no legislature, no economy, no full control of its claimed territory) are not civilians at all. The Nazis and Hirohito used people in civilian occupations to further their goals (clerks, engineers, physicians and such).

Only a completely deranged psycho would attempt to put it down as "ignoring the modern reality of war".

You have exposed yourself as a completely deranged psycho.

The reality of modern war is Iran can fire hypersonic missiles at Israel whenever it wants and blow the entire country to pieces.

The reality of modern war is that there is an exodus from Israel already and this will continue and accelerate.

The reality of modern war is that the Israel economy will struggle to recover from this war and the impending exodus including a massive brain drain.

The reality of modern war is the USA has other strategic objectives and will eventually abandon Israel. The USA is currently abandoning everyone.

So whilst right wing fundamentalists in Israel currently hold power their strategy of ethnic cleansing and genocide and endless war is not a great long term strategy for Israel living peacefully in the region.

Israel absolutely has a right to exist, but Netanyahu is currently doing everything he can to destroy his own country.

They have amoral army to protect them, Tel Aviv is safe, nothing to see here.

50,000 Israelis have fled Israel via Jordan and Egypt in the last week.
They are running like rats off a sinking ship.

Speaking of brave, how brave were you when that imaginary crowd was on your driveway.
Your mates in the IDF would be gushing about your bravery.
If only you had a gun and an unarmed Palestinian child looking for food to shoot at, you would be sooooo brave, just like them.

Yeah of course, it's all about you.

I suppose next you're going to try to argue that it is antisemitic to talk about crimes against humanity?

Look at you celebrating Iran's genocidal, systematic and widespread attack on the Israeli civilian population.

I suppose your celebration of the widespread crime against humanity against the Jewish state is not based on your anti-semitic beliefs?

50,000 Israelis have fled Israel via Jordan and Egypt in the last week.

Ben Gurion was closed. That figure is 150,000 short of Ben Gurion's weekly departures. Literally more people stayed than would have left without your mate in the bunker firing off his rockets.

They are running like rats off a sinking ship.

Nazi Germany used the same linguistic comparison of vermin to describe Jews. Noone here is shocked by your use of offensive anti-semitic tropes.

It's cute that you think most people will take you seriously when you continue to frame the criticism of a genocidal state as antisemitism while the slaughter of at least 60000 in Palestine (undoubtedly more with 350k people missing) as cool and normal.

Keep harping on about 2006 though – the tens of thousands that have died that weren't even born then totally deserve to die because of it. The thousands of Palestinian youths that were born after then that have been detained and starved without charge deserve it. The fact that only a fraction of Palestinians today voted for Hamas in 2006 is completely irrelevant because nuance has no place in this discussion. The fact that by 2006 Israel had been funding Ahmed Yassin and then Hamas for 3 decades with the openly stated goal of weakening the secular Palestinian Liberation Organisation is also completely irrelevant, I suppose? Was it antisemitic on Israel's part to provide that funding or does it only work one way?

Actually, don't bother answering. We know your answer. We know you'll continue to view this through the narrowest of lenses where you can simply defer to accusations of antisemitism when people disagree with you because it's a convenient out.

Look at you celebrating Iran's genocidal, systematic and widespread attack on the Israeli civilian population.

If Iran wanted to wipe the Israeli population off the map they could do it tomorrow. Iran must have the most moral army in the whole world.
OR
Iran has right to defend itself. Do you condemn Israel?
OR
If it wasn't for June 12 then Iran wouldn't have to drop bombs on Tel Aviv.
OR
The Israeli people voted for their govt, therefore they are all responsible for June 12 and thereby legitimate targets.
OR
Any of the other BS that you and your mates have been posting, you sick mother fkers.

I suppose your celebration of the widespread crime against humanity against the Jewish state is not based on your anti-semitic beliefs?

Crimes against humanity are part of the modern realities of war.
Just ask MitchamVic.

Ben Gurion was closed. That figure is 150,000 short of Ben Gurion's weekly departures. Literally more people stayed than would have left without your mate in the bunker firing off his rockets.

Are you talking about the Ayatollah?
He is my best mate.
Not as close as you and your terrorist mates in the IDF.
How many kids they shot this week? Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo brave. You must be so chuffed they are in amoral army.

Nazi Germany used the same linguistic comparison of vermin to describe Jews. Noone here is shocked by your use of offensive anti-semitic tropes.

So nobody can say "rats off a sinking ship" because it's antisemitic?
Stop talking shit.

Imaginary?

Yes, imaginary.
I do not believe a single word that you say. Not a single word.
I am sure you will call that antisemitic, but you can rest easy.
I don't say that I don't believe you because you are Jewish, I say I don't believe you because you are a lying campaigner.

That’s rubbish. Post a link to ANY comment on this forum where a user has specifically celebrated Oct 7?

That’s not a “crime against humanity against the Jewish state”. It was Israel who initiated the violence by bombing civilian apartment blocks to kill civilian scientists, a clear war crime, alongside targeting Red Crescent sites and hospitals.

Iran was targeting the Israeli military HQ, some military research institutes and oil refineries. Targets of military not civilian nature.

My son must have had his military research and oil refineries mixed in with his Paw Patrol's and dinosaurs under his bed then.

That is all just near that burger shop where that bloke said while it was burning “Something smells burnt, I'm not sure if it's the cooking smell or the smell of burnt children in Gaza.'”.

There is plenty of evil hate to go around - it is sad you can’t see yours.

Did you know that Nazis used to drink water?

It stands to reason that if you drink water then you are antisemitic.

The person that made that tik tok suffered from severe mental illness. His actions are indefensible and abhorrent. Given what happened to him and his family I don't think he is going to do it again.

There is plenty of evil hate to go around - it is sad you can’t see yours.

Mine is based on actions, not where you pray or your nationality.

If youre building nuclear weapons I dont think you count as a "civilian". The others in the apartments yes.

Wrong.

Many legal experts will tell you targeted murder of any civilian scientist is illegal, in addition to being a moral outrage:

Looked pretty accurate to me... almost like people were on the ground watching and guiding the strike in....

Are you saying that Israel meant to attack three different hospitals in Iran? That they deliberately targeted them?
