We have all sorts of issues down back.

Comben, McDonald, Goater, Tucker, Archer, Corr all unavailable.

McDonald out (injured)
Wardlaw out (injured)
Fisher out (omitted)
Darling out (rest)

Phillips in
Maley in
Harvey in (defensive role)
Duursma in.

5 day break, no Comben/Mcdonsld against the best scoring team in the comp, going to need a miracle.

There is a real chance we could hear “Thirteen. Thirteeeeeen” again this Thursday night.
Pink coming off the most incredible month of football as a KPD (according to social media) will have his hands full with Darcy……
If only we’d kept Biggy.

Speaking of Biggy. Did we ever find out the circumstances surrounding his sudden departure from the club?

HAHA GTFOH. Hoyne agrees with me.. whattaya know, ive been banging on about this shit since the Collingwood game.. finally someone comes out and says it

There was a good article online during week....about how there were a number of statistical categories that showed North were still way off the pace, and way off the successful markers in modern footy. Particularly in regards to transition.

That was the “ball movement” article. Already knew we stunk at that without seeing the numbers.

The reason we are so slow, is by design as we cant set up defensively on the turnover. We turn the ball over more than any team in the comp and just get fisted constantly when we try to move the ball quick.

There's been a couple of needed changes but it's felt like they held off to not mess with how competitive we have been. So, hopefully, the silver lining of yesterday is that some changes are made.

IN - Duursma, Phillips, Maley, Banch, Comben

OUT - Fisher, Wardlaw (inj), Darling (rest), RHJ, Logue or Dawson

I can't wait until we eventually have Archer, Goater and George in and we get the likes of Daniel out. We could use a bit of size and athleticism.

Daniel isn’t getting dropped for 2 years minimum- clarko is too pigheaded to do this.

The fact we get curb stomped when we don’t annihilate the opposing midfield is a clear indication we have no idea how to football properly.

Bucks said the same talking about the Blues a couple of weeks ago. Footy is now about speed and ball movement. Our mids are slow and as good as they are in other areas, they can’t change that. Powell, Sheezel, Parker and Jy dont have good top line speed and the first two don’t have a power game.

Our team would be great in the late 2010’s.

Which coincides with when a Clarkson was last any good.

The most dominant team of the late 2010s was Richmond and they were all about speed and ball movement.

Yep. All we can do right sometimes is contested ball.

I think it was Horne from champion data who said we are near bottom for offensive transition and also defensive transition.

Pretty much the no.1 thing that matters in modern footy.

Yep.

With very little one v one these days, the ability to cover the right options when defending and passing to the right options when attacking (off direct turnover) dictates your success.

We suck horrifically at both.
