Nah it’s fine man, just having a hot minute stuck at work, was watching the scores relatively happy until the third quarter when the inevitable barrage of opposition goals followed by excuses came rushing in.
I just get a bit sick of it sometimes. It’d be nice if we could chase premierships instead of mere “bravery” against a fellow minnow club that ain’t even assured of being top 8 this year.
You at least agree don’t you, it’s always something that could’ve, should’ve or didn’t happen as an excuse? Do you get a bit tired of it?

very few teams have "another quality ruckman" on their list.Do we have another quality ruckman to take Xerris place...We have CCJ or Teakle. Max Gawn will have a field day next week. No Xerri, Ldu, and Wardlaw wont be back with no word on Comben or McDonald...God help us!![]()
He would get monstered. Yuck.very few teams have "another quality ruckman" on their list.
Teakle is an option, however, and this might be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't be against giving Goad a run. He's been our best performing ruck in the VFL this year.
C'mon Rod, Gawn would break him in half.very few teams have "another quality ruckman" on their list.

Exactly. Will be delisted at year end. Sick of hearing on socials about that one time when he played on Daicos and kept him quiet for a half of footy before he died on his feet and had to be subbed. And how badly he’s been treated by the club. Aha. Was the same thing with Lazarro last year. Both just VFL level footballers. Was hoping he might have shown something tonight but nope. How far out was he when he had that shot on goal that didn’t make the distance?what is it with this trade Phillips nonsense? no one is going to give up a draft pick for him. No one wanted him last year and he's shown nothing this year on a one year contract.
Melbourne will be up and about after the earlier game in the year.Side aiming for the top four vs a side struggling to get out of the bottom four.
There was a lot to like and a lot to dislike.
I'm more interested in how we go against Melbourne next week, tbh.
The same bloke has been involved in getting both those 2 to the club. He’s just going to pick another player, or players, with some caveat attached to them.I'm a big fan of WillFill but he is just not quick enough for AFL, Definatly trade as seasons end.
We need a better strategy to break the press coming out of the D50. Daniels should not be taking the Kick ins, he just makes far to many poor decisions.
Currently OS so have seen not one minute of the game, but we continuously give EVERY oppo team we play at least one quarter of 10 shots at goal, or more. Carlton, Richmond and WC couldn’t hurt us, but any decent team will murder you when you allow that. Some good moments, some bad moments, probably lands about where we'd expect a game like this is going to land given where both clubs are at currently. Considering the injured outs + LDU concussion + Larkey hobbled early, leading to us relying on a younger group where the balance tips too far in favour of not going hard enough at the ball/player, coming off a shorter break than our more fancied opposition, I don't think we were disgraced tonight - treading water a bit, sure, but in the circumstances that's not disastrous. It was a bit of a damp result for a celebratory night, though, whatever the expectations, and another match where we were in it for more than half the game only to lose by a pretty wide margin.
And what better snapshot of our 100 years in the VFL/AFL could you get than battling against a barrage of adversity, including everything the league's appointed officials care to set against us? Front-on contact with the Sherrin is apparently not allowed but all-angles contact with Zurhaar's head is - it's holding the ball when there's no prior, one arm is pinned and the player is on the ground with the legs they're supposedly not genuinely attempting to use to kick the ball are folded underneath the tackler's, but not holding the ball to take evasive action, get caught, and allow the ball to 'spill free' seconds later - protected area becomes the latest rule usually only notionally in the rulebook to selectively be enforced against us - Dogs player get called to 'stand' 3m ahead of the mark rather than called back - and apparently any North player near the boundary when the ball crosses it must be showing 'insufficient intent'... these kinds of displays don't have to be the difference between winning and losing for them to feed into the club-wide demoralisation we're still struggling to shake; enough has been wrong for us here not to need extra battles to fight with the umpiring as well.
Next two weeks against lower-ranked sides probably the more telling games than this one. I felt we'd shown a significant improvement, and positive trajectory, in reducing the extent to which opposition teams were able to hurt us on turnover, and just playing a more defensively accountable team game in general, but that hasn't been the case across the last two matches - it's one thing for finals contenders to find a way to break us down, I'll be more worried if the likes of Melbourne and Sydney are doing the same.
Last day of term is a farce anyway, to be fair. I'm sure your kids could've had a post-match sesh at Crown and been as good as gold
How awesome to have to catch a replacement bus from Parliament all the way back to the far northern suburbs, on a Thursday night.
Nice meltPassmore keep laughing mate. Laugh like Griffey Logue. I hope you’re having a ball, 26 years since our last flag and further away from one than the noble years.
I feel like Sheezel is carrying an injury, his kicking has absolutely zero penetration this season.
