Yes and should’ve won the norm but over all the seasons I’m not sure he’s matched his home and away form
had a poor 2023 granny

was incredible v richmond 2022 and from memory pretty good the week after against melbourne, then bullied by cats

pretty good in that richmond 2020 finals win and then from memory was about our best in the cats loss

i think initially he was worse in finals but he's had quite a few good finals and been improving aside from that 2023 granny

Carlton might play 2 rucks. Not sure tonight’s setup worked great. Maybe a good opportunity to test 2 rucks plus if Oscar is still up to it
Not sure how things looked on tv but I felt Fort was beaten by Sweet so Oscar would be a chance for a return.

Lmao that’s what it looked like live. God I’m going to miss Kenny. That’ll have made the port fans irrationally angry

Maybe its stockholm syndrome from my deep dive into the history of KEN but I kinda get it from their perspective. To quote that hack Dave Hughes, I'd probably be FUMING if that was our coach just after we conceded 7 straight goals lol.

No Tom, don't let the Port supporters win

I thought Port played pretty good footy for a team sitting 10th on the ladder.
They used handball very well to break through the center of the ground, but that final kick was not always on target.
Both sides kicked reasonably straight, but conditions were excellent and no wind at all.
The stats had the game closer but i was not concerned after 1/4 time

The crowd got to sing country road 3 times and hopefully Charlie kicking 3.1 will help his confidence going forward.

We broke our highest score of the year with 120. Our previous 3 best being 118,118 & 118.
Towards the end Hippy was kicking for goal directly in front when the score was 112 but only scored a point.
I was hoping he would convert, and we stayed on that 118, but not to be.

A 28-point win being the same margin as 3/4 time. Looks like no injuries so that's good.
The Blues away next week with just the 5-day break. hopefully Voss is not sacked before then.
Really need to beat Carlton to hold that 2nd spot as things get harder from that point.

Bailey BOG for me with 26 disposals and 5 goals 1 behind. His heat map below.
Great goal kicking from someone that played considerable time on the wing

Are we managing Dunks to get him right for finals or do we think him spending more time forward is the best option going forward?
Looked like part of us increasing the time in middle for the second string (?!) while senior mids like Dunkley move to other areas. It also meant a swap between Rayner and Dunkley which was OK.

100 points first time at Gabba this season. Charlie kicked 3 on birthday, starting to find some form. Thanks Zac for deciding to play your best game of the season. Avoided post-bye drop off game and got our 11th win, 3 or 4 more to go.

It felt like we were testing a few things out there today than go the short chip chip mark style. Whenevr we caused a turnover - we went long and fast but to players who were poorly positioned. It meant we were handing the ball straight back to them near their 50 arc. They rebounded with handball through traffic and we were putting ourselves under more pressure unnecessarily.

Unless its a game plan tweak we were trying like Pies did earlier this week, It didn't make sense.

Happy with the win, hope Vossy sticks around for one more week so there is no new coach bounce over there.

A few nervous moments, but I’d settle for 18.12.120 every week. In the end, it was the sort of win that helps set us up for finals. There was pressure for most of the game, we were seriously challenged a couple of times and we responded. Lester didn’t get his goal, but his last quarter effort, where he took a strong low down mark, accepted a fifty metre penalty and then hammered it deep into our forward line which turned into a goal was great to watch and VINTAGE LESTER. Considering our performance, we just need to tidy up some decision making. Other than that we looked great. Special shout out to Jasper Fletcher, who is growing before our eyes into an elite footballer.
I loved the atmosphere at the GABBA, but missed the quick post game ‘get away’ of the MCG and Marvel Stadium. Walked from the ground to Albert St. accommodation. It was a great night for a stroll.

plus side is - we should have plenty in the tank for 5 day break!

interesting use of dunks, not quitr seeing it myself but if we are keeping him fresh i'm okay with that

should send him to cripps

bez was awesome against bont last year so i'd try that vs dogs
I'm wondering if Rayner's more consistent form and especially his improved defence is allowing the Coaching team to try out a bit of flexibility and 'freshen' up Dunks giving him a change. Dunks kinda played Rayner's bigger half forward type role for a while and Rayner came into the mid field a bit more. Maybe.

I said the same thing late in the game, Port played a bit like us in that they tried short diagonal kicks to get our defensive set up in some confusion, they also had some great overlap run.

Very good win against a desperate opposition who came highly motivated.

That 10 minute patch from us in the 1st quarter was scintillating footy.

Fab5 > Bailey, McCluggage, Fletcher, Dunkley, Neale.
