Big fan of Langford but given he's primarily a marking third tall type, I feel like our playing style (especially entries into our 50) does him a massive disservice.
True
our forward line option is very kick it high to darcy

Though him and Naughton can be used on the wings as forward to take marks
spacing out that forward line option

He would be taking Weightman spot atm due to that annoying knee injury

Kyle Langford was their number 1 forward option kicked 40 goals one year

a big yes for me

Love his workrate and marking ability
Cost vs output is a big question mark for me.

What if Marra plays for us next year? Weightman? Hynes will develop too and play mostly forward for the next few years.

We move Weightman into a ruck role and Marra at half back haha #BevoBall

Stuff all this predatory “who can we salvage out of the Essendon wreckage” behaviour.

We need to show some solidarity and rattle cans for them on the Tullamarine Freeway. I’m sure they’d do it for us if our situations were reversed.

A reference no doubt that Essendon and Carlton didn’t offer us any type of support including moral, during fightback, unlike Richmond and the Pies. Some of us have long memories.

Essendon players are upset with their facilities, any worth talking to?
Depending on the price, I’d consider Ridley, McGrath or Merrett. I doubt they’d be willing to part with any of their young core like Caddy, Kako or Durham, so no point looking there. But a few of their older guys might thrive with a fresh start elsewhere.

No matter how unlikely.

There nothing funnier than being in the lofty position of having a discussion picking over the rotten corpse of Essendon's list.

Oh, the times they are a changin'.

This is massively disrespectful to Gunston lol
If you are considering Langfords career in totality then I'd agree with you but at their best both are part of key forward systems that don't rely solely on them as the number one targets who when left forward are pretty good for 50 goals a year. The problem is Essendon played funny buggers with Langford for 8 seasons before actually realising this is the role he is good at.

We'll do it off site and not keep records. It's what they would have wanted

They'd ask for two first rounders for Ridley - he'd be one of they "almost untouchable" players. And I'd consider consider it. Give us a couple of second rounders back.

Is Ridley a bit injury prone?
Yeah I think he is. He had a good run of it between 2020 and 2022 missing only a couple of games throughout those 3 seasons (remembering that 2020 was the shortened season). Otherwise he's missed quite a bit of footy, for a range of different soft tissue and a couple of concussion issues.

Carlton, Essendon and to a lesser extent, Melbourne are three clubs I’m told it’ll be easy to pry players out of.

Lots of disappointment going on, sounds like Carlton is a flaming train wreck behind the scenes.

Carlton/Essendon have nothing you'd want that we can get (Unless we can bring Merrett home) Ridley far to injury prone Perkins is both soft and shit Nic Martin would be another nice one but would cost too much.

Melbourne however have a few,

McVee would be a nice Duryea replacement, Wouldn't mind testing the waters with Trent Rivers to add to the half back line and think Kade Chandler is the missing part of our forward structure to have whilst Dolan fills out

I mean, if Ridley didn't have injury worries or of Perkins wasn't soft then those players would be more expensive or not even gettable, hell Essendon might not even be in the position they're in. Can't have it both ways.

Sign me up for a year of Steven May. I know he’s a dickhead, and being on top of the reverse Coleman is a little concerning but he’d sure up things a bit, I think.

Ridley still won't be cheap as his contract is waaay to long

Complete culture cancer. Don’t want him near us.
