Yep.....I have been supporting this club since birth...born into a Carlton family that grew up in Elgin St....I have not been any more disappointed with our supporters than until this week. The Cripps bashing on top of all this is mind boggling. Who needs opposition supporters when we eat our own.
The fish does rot from the head

Attitude reflects leadership, captain

A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit

That third one is something that reflects Cripps right now, I’m more sure he is taking any blame currently. And the majority of our fans aren’t prepared to lump anything into the great man. But I think he does have to take some responsibility. It’s not the first time that when we’ve been bashed about and he’s not giving a whimper. Just before Bolton got sacked he was very poor and then once teague took over look at the Brisbane game, it’s probably Cripps’ greatest game of all time if not one of the greatest individual (non-finals) game by anyone in the history of the club (if not the entire AFL).

So yes we can blame Cripps. Yes he’s been an amazing captain. But he’s also not being an amazing captain at the moment, nor is he being just an average one. It stinks at the stinks.

Because they're human beings.
But even if they were robots, they would still need servicing and software updates.
I get your point, and understand they can't always fuel themselves or be at the top of their game.
That's what coaches, and different support mechanisms are for.

But you can't tell me this isn't a problem our group over the years and even within games hasn't faced or dealt with.
That responses come from a reaction to something rather than a committed consistency and process

Some of that is execution, but some of it is method. And that's the part that needs to be addressed.

Go back, take your 30. Don't rush it.
Part of that's true but I think that's a simplification.

The wheel and go's from just outside 50 has always been his go to, and generally it's been one of his more reliable shots. Much like the rest of his goal kicking, that's completely gone. His snaps have been as poor. When he's taken time on set shots inside 50 he's been equally unreliable. I've made posts before that I've always seen him has being a relatively unreliable shot for goal, his figures look decent thanks to the snaps and the aforementioned wheels from 50 where he moves on quickly, but pure set shot goal kicking has always been shaky.

No matter where he's kicking from he often looks for the quick play-on and only goes back when he has to. That part isn't new, he's always tried to play on ASAP if he can. He's never liked the pressure of set shots.

This is the part that has to be addressed.
The team play is generally to take your 30.

Rushing is only good if it increases the probability of the team scoring (eg kicking to a player free in the goal square), or if you need to score quickly late in the 4th quarter.
