For all we know, that happened last week and the club is fully aware of what is going on.

If he’s chosen to leave, nobody attached to the situation is going to even hint at that. Not until the season is over.

Have heard that US style sign-and-trade stuff is coming here, Bergman would be a part of any deal. They don't have anywhere near the trade capital to get a deal done in my view though. Neither do Adelaide for that matter.

for the last twenty-odd years I have thought there was the Heffernan rule that prevented you from doing that kind of thing (trading within 12 months of signing a contract) but turns out it was never instituted as the AFLPA pushed back on it. TIL

that said - has any player been traded within 12 months of signing since Heffernan himself? seems pretty uncommon

As was just pointed out to me the Houston trade wasn't great for them last year either. If Nas forces his way out we will definitely end up getting unders.

It’ll look very different. We’re currently trying to build our next push around the young core, and one of the main pillars in that core will be gone. Not that we rely on 1 player, but losing him will put us a step behind. Again.

He needs to hold the course. We have more to be excited about for the future than Collingwood, Geelong and even GWS (to an extent).

Let’s hope so but he has completely checked out.
