you can keep saying that but it doesn't make it correct

Murphy is a dumb footballer
Why do you believe he got drafted and played over 100 games?

Cos he looked good in the Claude Crow suit??

Apart from Footy IQ, he has no other redeeming qualities to play at the AFL level.

Am happy with these changes and am ok with Jones getting another shot particularly given the games invested in less worthy candidates.

I’m pretty sure I did finally give up on Jones last year at some stage though but I also feel like he’s never been given a consistent crack at a preferred position to see if he can make it.

Perhaps if he’s sub and then comes on with midfield time.

By the way, how the fk is a game between 3rd and 6th being played early on a Saturday.

And a game between 13th and 16thbis prime time on Saturday night.

AFL is a complete cluster

As soon as I saw this I knew it was because it's Essendon involved and yep, it is

Essendon rate very highly for TV.

I bet more people watch their game than ours.

It is why they get those slots

Is that a self-fulfilling prophecy though?

They're in prime time so often that they capture the casual AFL watchers and so rate more highly?

True
But don't think the AFL cares.

Their biggest TV market is Victoria. Essendon rates better than our game.

As an aside, my son plays for an Adelaide Northern suburbs Footy Club and the amount of Essendon supporters is quite odd. Heaps of em, including kids.

Especially given the club is affiliated with North Adelaide SANFL and Port in the AFL.

Anyone who wanted tickets to the Port v WCE game got em last night at training lol...

Yeah but that’s why we have this dumb floating fixture, so they can get it right.

He is always front and centre of every contest. Just not good enough to get the ball or athletic enough to power through a contest

Why doesn't he get more of the ball, if he's always front and centre?

He might not be among the best aerobically but it's good enough for him to make it. The only reason he has made this far is because of his speed athleticism and work rate.

I know it is naff, but he does keep shape and formation well.

He also has been an on field coach in in our darkest period. Helping the players.

This is a p!ss take, surely? Our darkest period was during 2020/2021, when Murphy was 21/22 and he was one of our young kids?

How thee **** has he been an on field coach? let alone back then?

I don't think he gets into the right positions and there does not hold up the structure/shape.

I am not advocating for him to.play, or even be on our list. Just pointing out his one redeeming feature is his Footy IQ.

Without it, he would never have been drafted.

His time on our list should have ended last year. We now have enough genuine AFL talent with good Footy IQ for him to now be redundant.

And his woefull stat line each game this year shows this as more guys get the "easy ball" he once thrived on.

He doesn't have a high footy IQ, he got a gig because he could run fast and could provide pressure in a role that is typically of low productivity anyway.

The only positive i could say about his footy IQ is that it used be better, to the point it was about average at best. But he has never really been a particularly good decision maker with the ball, and in his desperation to impact the game he has only gotten worse.

Which is hilarious given how shit Essendon have been for 20 years.

Could make a list of AFC 100 game players that would never get there if they were on another list. Murphy is just another in a long line of list cloggers, not letting other, more talented, younger players a go. He should have had a line through him after 50 games. Anyway, hope it's the last we see of him in our AFL side.

Remember when Demitriou said you have to earn the right for prime time by playing winning footy………..🙄🙄🙄
Did you have to bring that b@stards name up? I'll never forgive him for how he forced us to part with Rendell and then without blinking happily allowed said Rendell join Collingwood. His reign as CEO was a stain on our game
