really? i have had the opposite opinion of him, while hes tall, he seems to get brushed passed and pushed aside at the contest far too easily, doesnt lay solid stopping tackles and struggles to break free himself of tackles.
Was hoping to see more of his aerial ability which seemed to be reasonable in his draft year

i do wonder if its partly a tactical issue that we so often are down on tackles i50. grander scheme are we gaining something by not prioritising that pressure? not sure but its definitely disheartening to see teams walk it out so easily against us

Maybe we are more focussed on defensive structure elsewhere on the ground. Another one of the JLo mysteries.

I think Raz was improving but not to the level where he would keep jom out unless he was really out of form

Raz had few run of games and was doing ok but wasn't really anything impressive. He would do one or two nice things at stoppages but don't think in the centre clearances

The players vote for the captain at Freo. If the players want him as captain they'll vote him in again. Brayshaw and Serong are both more than capable of stepping in for the games that he's injured.

It's why the commentary on whether Freo should "appoint" Brayshaw or Serong as captain is silly. It's up to the playing group
As part of the Dockers' Constitution this would be virtually impossible to overturn.

Gunston and Chol have both been very good for Hawthorn recently.
Not sure who should take Gunston. Very smart player with a deadly accurate kick.

Chapman is the perfect matchup for him as far as size goes. Smarts I'm not sure, but Gunston outsmarts almost everybody.

If Chappy finds himself minding a small (quite possible) we could use Worner. He would be giving up some height, but the Hawks are probably going to have a 185cm or 188cm player (Jiath/Sicily) manning up one of our talls who are all bigger than Gunston.

Maybe Ryan ... but I'm not sure who Ryan really is a good matchup for in the Hawks forward line. Last year he played on Hardwick and Weddle who both switched between back and forward.

And why would we do that
We’ll look we have players who are constantly injured who get reproves as soon as there off the list aka , switta & JOM, switta was being called to being dropped before his injury because he was doing nothing, Johnson has been a let down this year yet is never dropped, just feel Raz is hard done by feel bad for the kid

If we have 30 inside fifties for 20 marks and goals, ten ground ball gets and shots - no opposition handling of the ball at all - that's fine too.

Sydney started the game at their half forward line, so they had a lot of tackles around their forward fifty. It didn't get into ours much.
Besides the fact our F50 tackles are consistently shite what excuse are you making for the overall tackles then ?

He had 11 touches in a game where we lost it in the midfield. He’s just had a nice run of games, none of them were above a 5/10. He’s not hard done by. He’s just not good. And we’re not in a spot where we can keep gifting people games for development. At the end of the day he’s still worse than Johnson

Contested marking and forward nous were two of his biggest raps pre-draft. Has a scouting report ever been more wrong?
His role is not going to get him many contested marks. I remember him has more of an intercept mark in the futures comp. His forward rep is built off one game.

Johnson plays a different position to Erasmus and has been pretty good outside of the occasional brainfart. I don't see why they'd drop him.

If he got a coaches vote in a game, by definition it probably wasn't a 5/10 lol.

I think the decision to drop him is the right one regardless of whether he leaves because of it. Last game he played 59% game time and attended 7 centre bounces. Not to say he made the most of that time coz he absolutely didn't, but I look at that as choosing neither extreme and hence getting the worst of both worlds. Not really backing him but technically keeping him in the team. You have to choose an extreme and live with it. This week, they did.

He had 19 touches and not much else. It was a weird coaches vote that I’m not entirely convinced wasn’t an error.
