Cadman 3 years and 3 seasons into his career. Our blokes one pre season and 10 games. Not sure they’re the same thing mate.

Actually a flattering comparison for our blokes. I didn’t mean Faull should be performing like Cadman now, I was just illustrating the gap that exists but yeah maybe 2 more seasons and they’ll be reaching that level hopefully

Went along to the game and sat in our old seats in N5. It was so good to be back in the best seats in the house !

All week we had to listen how many Essendon players were "injured". That number is 15. Our list is 14, with only one player (Colina) yet to debut. Add Lynch and Balta - and we are missing one more than Essendon. Add the umpires to Essendon's squad - that brings their total "outs" to 11. Yes, the umpires were atrocious, and part of the reason the game appeared so dour is the way they umpired - Keep balling it up all day until they could find an Essendon Free kick. HALF their goals were from frees and both were "Daicos" free kicks - they just were not there.

Gameplan - was there in the first quarter - attack via the corridor. After 1/4 time, we were denied the corridor and had to go long down the line. Unfortunately, our talls are kids - give them 2-3 years at this level and Simms, Faull, Fawcett and LeFau will be the targets holding on to these marks. Faull is getting into good positions, but is not yet taking one grab pack marks. Needs more time. Our senior players in particular are making some questionable decisions - Prestia running into an open goal but tries a 5m pass to a tall's shoelaces - Kozi taking a great mark but then handballs to a player under pressure. With the kids and the outs - it is HARD to execute ANY gameplan..

I loved Tyler Young's game - I thought he was in our best and he had an immediate effect on our composure down back. Teamed really well with Miller who also had a good game. I can see a really good backline developing, and I can't wait to see Gibcus slot into this side. Vlastuin was superb, and I hope like hell he plays on and makes 300 games. Hotton was excellent - you can just see a bit of Edwards / Bolton. Needs time. Banks and Brown solid - slowly getting games into future leaders.

Sonsie did ok, got a lot of the ball but kept turning it over. I thought it was a bit stiff to sub. Kozi looked out of his depth but did take a couple good contested marks. Made some dumb errors. Blight was dropped for the same reasons, but I think it might be an idea to give him another game. MRJ did enough, but someone needs to tell him not to try taking Michael Mitchell marks.

Not a fan of the "worst game this year" BS from the media. Both teams missing players - give it some context and understanding of where the clubs are at. We are rebuilding and missing a huge number of players through injuries. It was a tough win, and we deserved it.

Unless there are any post match injuries - probably leave the side unchanged.

Are you seriously surprised?

People don’t like posters from other boards trolling, its always been that way.
lol I said 2 rebuilding clubs in the dons autopsy

I was offering them support

That’s right, lol! If we have four wins in year 6, then it’s understandable. So many people are overrating our list. Sunshine and others, how many wins did you truly believe we would get this year?
It’s not about wins, I’ve said it multiple times. It’s about the game style or identity we are trying to forge- you just can’t see it. For mine this is a coaching problem not a playing personnel problem.

Nobody in their right mind is talking about winning games, it’s the way we go about it. Clear as mud what we’re trying to do.

Some needs to remind kozi no quick handballs to a ruckman under pressure in the goal sq , dumbest decision of the year , rucks take too long to react from brain to hand to foot , dopey football just glad it didn’t cost us I would have been fuming
He would have been on an impossible angle so the thought was correct.

I watched the first half live and the second on replay this morning. Abysmal game and I already knew the result but I wanted to see Vlas get the win in his 250th. I think both teams had the right idea trying to play a quicker transition-style game but there was a terrible lack of skill and composure. Good goals from Hopper, Taranto, and Short the difference along with Miller and Young in defence.

I'm thinking we could have a win or two left in us before the season is out.

Literally have more premierships than you, freo and saints combined. Plus we were never found guilty of drug use. You scraped a win against a full vfl side, with your best team, in what’s now considered one of the worst games ever played. I wouldn’t be too optimistic for your “future”.
