Not outrageous to suggest that may be our final win of the year and therefore our final win under Ken Hinkley. The finish line is almost there, but man it's going to get ugly on the way out

A classic ugly, mid winter win when upsets usually happen.

I said they would be coming in the general thread about a week ago, they always do this time of year, there were 3 or 4 this week (almost 2 more today), but I didn't have the guts to tip any of them.
The last quarter wasn't ugly but the previous 3 were. If we already had a dozen wins you would say just bank the 4 pts and move quickly on to next week's game.

I've said it before about this type of mid season win, you bank it, you'd liked to bank $1,000 but it feels like we only banked $2.37 this evening.

Butters drove us when too many guys were asleep. Wines was great after quarter time in the packs. JHF woke up when someone slapped him at 1/4 time, probably Harley Reid. Georgiades continues to look dangerous but stuffs up too many dropped catches and set shots on goal.

Boak kicked a goal when it was an important time, which is rare for him and glad he finally did so, Richards was probably our best forward, best of the small ones, but geez he can kill momentum with poor kicks and fumbles.

Thought Sinn played well and as WCE tired, BZT and an injured Aliir had good second halves.

Rozee's hand injury could mean he misses a game or two if he broke one or more metacarpal bones.

We missed Esava today.

In the end, we did what we needed to. Nothing on the line, they could sense a chance for a rare win, we sleep walked through the first quarter and gave them a head start. From there we slowly beat them into submission and ran away with it by the finish.

The JHF/Reid stuff was fantastic. They carried on like a couple of 12 year olds but I'd rather that than the couldn't give a shit attitude displayed by the balance of players in the league these days. JHF ultimately showed Reid that he's got a long way to go to match the hype.
