That's before injuries have ****ed the year.
Like to see how many team goes with having up to a dozen of their best players missing for the year and then filled up with vfl players and rookies.

Essendon will rise with 2 good picks this year, Caddy, Kako. I think their injuries are so bad everybody feels sorry for them now.

We won't have a full squad for pre season with majority of the long term injured players doing rehab all summer. 2026 is ****ed already
If Draper leaves and triggers band 1 we will have 3 picks in the top 10 plus 2 second rounders. if the rumors of players being disgruntled are true we could add some more picks would be almost close to what Richmond had last year problem is tho this draft is supposedly weak

He also squeezed every drop out of North to get to prelims
We are different to North.
Those North teams that played in two prelims were established and had lots of decent players who got the most out of the list

when so many key pieces of a best 22 are guaranteed to miss patches of games, im hoping the new regime is capable of making some tough decisions
Going into a season with 44 on the list and knowing 5 will miss large chunks of football, tough job for Matt Rosa & co.

If they agree to sit out the whole year you can pay them outside of the cap and have that list spot available.
Suppose it depends on how the club wants to throw its financial weight around.

Im 24 so ive never seen the likes of Hird and Loyd etc on our team
Martin is generally my favorite player and the best player ive seen in terms of silk and class while growing up that plays for us i don't mind losing but seeing that happened made my heart drop

Even with a good injury run, we were never going to be a top 4 premiership side this year.
Blooding all these kids could be the catalyst we needed. It might effectively leapfrog us a year or 2 in development.
If we find 4 very good players out of these 13 rookies - who wouldn't all have otherwise been tried, then it's a great result long term.

Rebuilding from what ? It’s over 20 years since a final win .
I hope I’m wrong, there is the evidence that Scott can squeeze every cent out of a list, but is Essendon’s list at that stage ?

not even the best exorcist could rid the demons of this club in one go. there’s a significant amount that the club needs to do off the field that will eventually reflect on the field. in the top 7 consecutive game streaks the club, Caddy, Kako and Roberts feature. it says a whole lot about our injury problems over a significant stretch of time.
