Competition time! Apparently, the largest fish ever caught was a great white shark that weighed an incredible 2,664 pounds (1,208.389 kg.). What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught? My Biggest fish is a Murray Cod. He was 130cm & exactly 100cm around the girth. This was around the year 2000 and I do have photos but not digital. I could probably scan the old photo's??????

That is a monster Murray Cod!

I'm not a great or experienced fisherman but whenever I go to north Victoria I always fish. Have caught carp and golden perch but still haven't landed a cod.

That's my best shot at this. My biggest was about 78 cm. LOVE catching carp.

If your in Melbourne try Coburg lake. We had a fishing club meetup there about 10 years ago and the fish were monsters.

Coburg Lake not too far from me actually. I've mostly been fishing near the Studley Park Boathouse when I'm looking for carp. Sometimes the Kyneton area lakes as well if I've got the time and want a country drive.

Mate, it's my best shot in this as well . I don't have too much luck catching big specimens from other species.

Landed a 140cm Spanish Mackerel last week. Was pretty happy to beat the sharks.

Shot one earlier in the year that was probably about the same size, but a shark only left me the head.

Pick up a handful of mud and put that in your mouth.
The only difference is that the mud probably tastes a bit better.

I've only tried it once a few years ago when I cooked one thaI I caught in the Upper Coliban Reservoir. Just tasted like regular fish to me, nothing special but not bad, either.
