What ever happend to Sturt? He was progressing and showing quite a bit.

Sturt is always injured.

Who else do we have? Ideally you need 3 or 4 good small forwards.

Walters - retired
Switta - Injury prone, does not kick goals. Good when he plays as a high half forward.
Frederick - Plays as a tall, not great at getting front and centre.
Dudley - needs 2 preseasons to get fit.
Sturt - I think his knee is stuffed. Great player when fit, but has not ever had an injury free preseason.


I think we badly 2 small forwards, at least so they can put pressure on there current players in the 22.

Seems to be that case of role players at a successful club will get tempted by bigger money and roles at other clubs.

I really hope we keep him as he plays such a good balance between attack and shutting down rebounding backs. He's also so valuable as a utility going to the back line or wing as needed

Someone is likely to fall by the wayside, speculation is one of Ah Chee or Starcevich, if it came down to a choice between those 2 personally I'd prefer to keep Starcevich.

If you are offering Draper/Allen both contracts then i think its less salary cap issues and more not wanting to match a insane offer elsewhere. A club like Adelaide if they have interest could offer a insane deal you dont want to match

I would like him and Starcevich at Freo.

I would happily offer Cal 3 mil over 4 years at Essendon. Absolute jet, would instantly improve our forward line and be useful for guys like Kako, Unwin, ADW and hopefully HEA to learn off of

I wouldn't call him broken down just because of one injury, but the risk for Draper is too great for what he'd cost. Most Brisbane fans are also puzzled.

Absolutely no reason top sign right now

Probably has a 2/3 year contract for OK money and probably the last time he'll get a multi year deal at the Lions

Super liked and respected around the league, still has 4/5 years of footy in him, Is his value at a brisbane team which he might get pushed out of in 3 years time, or somewhere else that he can get paid more to help them push them to a GF appearance, or a younger team looking for great vets who might give him an extra 200K a year?

Also has a young family to consider, one of those, I'm sure brisbane want him to stay but has been an excellent player and wont get in the way or stuff him around with penny pinching
