The Martin swing forward looked like it took the saints by surprise a fair bit. Almost a shame to pull that rabbit out the hat now and show everyone
I think anyone who knows about Martin would know that he is elite on his day, can take a grab, play tall and make a goal happen. I was pretty chuffed when we got him but did not expect too much given injuries. We are starting to see his abilities now and why we grabbed him. Speaks well too.

Toby next 🙏

There was both Good and Bad
Game itself was average at best.
Marred by unforced handball Clangers
Danger's goalkicking and Umpiring

Did like the return of SDK and Stengle
Post game K-rock interview, Atkins said
Team had lengthy review of Giants loss
Contrary to his Presser's statements
Scott is adjusting the Cats Game Plan
Humphries tried on the wing. Blitz F50
Martin started Forward and looked good.
Danger and Miers spent time in Centre
Discernible tempo change up in Q3
Cats slowed and maintained possession
Pleased to see tactical experimentation
Five weeks left to tweak and find form

Yeah I guess just after his time at Carlton breaking down physically and not being effective in the role, then starting as a defender with us, i just assumed we had to manage his body playing him in defence from here on

I guess it’s not like people don’t know he can play forward. But yes it was a surprise today.

Pre match there was a bit of discussion regarding how we'd match up on their small forwards as they've often been the ones to trouble

Today we opted for the Irish tag-team against Higgins - having kicked 10 goals against us in our 3 previous matches, today he was kept to just the 9 disposals & 2 goals including one from a free against Jack Henry. Post match Krock gave credit to Mullin, who when directly matched up on Higgins held him to 6 kicks & a goal

Can imagine the coaches would like seeing the flexibility their getting from the Irish duo where they can be used in a tagging role through the midfield or opposed to oppositions small forwards

Not the best game but we got the four points. Some of the umpiring was shocking, verging on corrupt.

What's with Dempsey warming up with the group then disappearing into the rooms for a minute before every game?
Private prayer or nervous pee?

I think a lot of people would be somewhat bemused that a team already boasting Stengle, Close, Dempsey, Mannagh, and at times Miers would play another medium-to-small forward.

I thought he was brought in for HBF and maybe today they thought bugger it let's throw him down forward and see what happens.

Good on him. I've said on here before for me he gives off a very good vibe (whatever that means).

If Hump can get his kicking mojo back, wow what a wingman he would be
Yep really like his game on the wing , having Martin thrown forward to disrupt the defenders will be good in the finals too

Kinda replaces Max’s role on the wing last year too which has been missing this year imo

Mullin continuing his trajectory.

Can’t understand how some on these forums can’t see how well he’s playing his role. Higgins got a cheapie early through no fault of Mullin but was otherwise shut out of the game and had little impact.

Mullin hits hard and has the best closing speed in our side. Faster than Holmes and Smith over the first 10-20 metres. Ball use becoming a weapon

What do you call an Irish Tagger? Rick O'Shea.

How did your day go with the special access?

Yeah but that's going back a fair way and his body is on the wrong side of 30 now. Carlton was trying to get him to do that literally last year and he was falling apart.

He was alright for them forward in patches he just kept pinging soft tissue injuries.

Crowd got excited when the scoreboard said Mullin had got his first goal. It was clearly Dempsey's.

Anyone else listening to the call on K Rock today. Was horrendous with that background noise.

Sounded like they were doing an outside broadcast from the local childcare centre. Very distracting

Couldn't be as bad as the shrieking Kelli Underwood.
Like fingernails scratching down a blackboard.
