Only ever been with CBA. Never had a problem with them so see no reason to change.

I've been a CBA customer right back from when it was the state bank of victoria days / dollarmites accounts etc etc.

I had never had issues until this year either. I've done very thorough research into CBA and I am astonished at what I've discovered. CBA is very vulnerable to card generation fraudsters, anyone with card number, cvv and exp can get around any security measure you put on your account. Both from people I know and also browsing reddit etc. There's got to be someone inside CBA working with card generation fraudsters overseas, that's my assessment.

With advances in computing power & AI this isn't that unrealistic any longer. All one needs is enough computing power and enough merchants that will allow mass force testing of CVV / expiry date combinations usually on a small amount. CBA don't care about stopping these transactions, some simple AI any idiot could knock together would detect these transactions (usually done overseas in odd patterns) couldn't possibly be legitimate.

At that stage, when they get a hit the details are sold on the web and cards are used very quickly before the consumer finds out and shuts it down. Literally within 5 mins of the transactions I had my debit card cancelled altogether. Still, once the transaction goes through they cannot stop it.

Basically, CBA don't invest as much in security measures for debit cards because it is your money, not the banks. If there's a problem their attitude is let the customer deal with the burden and refund it.

I don't like using credit cards but basically have to until I get out of CBA. The advice I got from CBA was disable all transactions apart from tap n go and eftpos payments, always keep a minimal amount of money in bank accounts liinked to debit cards. Basically, an admission by the CBA that their security is appalling.

I can only advise you that the odds you suffer a similar issue are pretty high with CBA and they're not that interested in taking measures to stop it. They've decided that the costs to prevent it are simply not worth the losses they themselves suffer. As for the customer well their attitude is stiff shit.

Yeah you’re better off stop using that debit card as they clearly know when you’re moving money between accounts.

Always had a credit card with CBA and never had problems. Opened some new accounts recently and they gave me a debit card. Haven’t used it as yet but prefer a credit card instead.

Would not be surprised in the least in insiders are assisting

I'd advise strongly against a CBA debit card. Very strongly. Credit card is different, when the bank's money is on the line their attitude is somewhat different.

Bitter sweet night.
Always found dad impossible to buy for. The type of person who has interests but no active involvement in them.

As in; liked cricket, footy, certain genres of film [westerns, Marvel/DC, sports] but didn't like reading so books, autobiographies etc were pointless. Wasn't well enough to go to the footy. And so on.

So for christmas I got him a voucher for the local cinema theatre. Having seen trailers he'd decided he'd wait for the film he wanted to see. Seeing as he's no longer with us I decided the rest of us would go see it tonight with the voucher. F1.

So bitter sweet as it was a good film to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Walked out knowing he'd have loved it even more than I enjoyed it.

Reports are that the first Oasis reunion gig was awesome. There are still tickets left for the Melbourne concert and even at minimum $350 I'm tempted. I need to check the T&Cs for what happens if the brothers fall out again and the tour is cancelled.

Think drowning would be one of the worst ways to go. Just the panic you'd feel just before it happened.
It’s a horrible feeling in the moment as someone who has experienced it but was pulled back up. The panic is awful.

Having been on a trampoline (one of the old style rectangle ones) doing WWF moves with your cousin only to be pushed into a small tree in the backyard and impaling my leg on a broken branch I can say stabbed to death would not be how I'd want to go.

Just one puncture to the leg was painful enough.

Reading the paper and seeing an article about someone you've known over half your life charged with serious offences is something that's hard to take in.
Yeah that'd be rough, especially depending on what the charges actually were.
