How would you describe his speed & run C2K, is he that quick ball carrier/movement type? He’s played midfield mostly and consistently racked up 20+ touches and big tackle numbers. Often takes the inside 50 kick and is a great decision maker and beautiful kick of the footy.
I like that he consistently wins his own footy, has clean hands and makes quick decisions. All traits that will serve him well playing forward of the footy.
This last game showed off his marking skills which if he can continue to display for the remainder of the season, makes him a top 20 pick in this draft for mine.

His disposal was questioned by Rookie Me. More an accumulator, than modern burst type, but did look good last game. Doubt he suits us.What about Jack Dalton, he goes to school with my son at Xavier, top kid, Xavier Captain, constantly named in the best players for Vic Metro, a little small but super smooth skills.

No real evidence that he's the type to take a few bounces with the footy necessarily. But he does make a habit of hitting stoppages on the move, reacts quickly to the bounce of the ball and good acceleration, which enables him to burst out of a stoppage. How would you describe his speed & run C2K, is he that quick ball carrier/movement type?
Thanks for the feedback C2K, sounds like he possesses many of the quality but basic skills and traits you’d like in a player…No real evidence that he's the type to take a few bounces with the footy necessarily. But he does make a habit of hitting stoppages on the move, reacts quickly to the bounce of the ball and good acceleration, which enables him to burst out of a stoppage.
He uses his lack of height (174cm) to his advantage, being able to change direction quickly, pick up ground balls at speed and draw free kicks for high contact. His stocky frame makes him hard to tackle, while his strength and intensity ensure he consistently sticks his tackles on bigger opponents.
I love that defensive actions are not an afterthought for him; tackles, shepherds and smothers are in his DNA. Check out this moment when he takes the ball cleanly off a smother and immediately is ready to baulk an opponent before giving off the handball.
I think he plays similarly to Fogarty for us, except he has a much more penetrating kick and looks a stronger contested and overhead mark, the two main criticisms of Fog. This makes him viable as a 80% forward, 20% midfield option at the next level IMO.

Harry Dean moving up into 7th place on the Fox Footy draft rankings.
What's the lowest pick we'd need to cover that one with the new system?

If our compo pick is around 9, then it’ll get pushed out by at least 3 picks due to the Brisbane/gc academy bids. If Dean is in the top 10, then the pick will get swallowed up.So is it possibility we can use the pick for TDK to get a Lindsay or Grlj and also get Dean and Ison or will that pick be used on just getting Dean?

Do you mean in addition to the 2 picks we already hold?
We would need 1389 points to match a bid at 7.
We're currently holding 522 points (picks 35 & 43). Assuming those picks stay the same (they won't) we would need pick 17 to match.
Yeah. So BlackGoanna is pretty much on the money which is what I was asking. We need to effectively trade down for points with the TDK compo or find another way to end up with additional picks elsewhere.
The question then becomes: would a deficit impact our ability to add Cody Walker next year?
Can't we trade 2027 first now that we can trade 2 years in advance?

Side note - It's pretty bloody ridiculous that we have entered into an overlap now of future trading and Tasmania's first draft with no guidance from the AFL. Honestly run by amateurs the AFL, the constant shifting right at the death with so many examples must drive the clubs insaneYes but it's supposed to be Tassies first draft and that's still up in the air and awaiting clarifaction. Once that's sorted and the AFL announce their official draft regulations for that draft clubs will be able to understand the pick values. If Tassie get every other pick in the first round a pick 10 could be pick 19/20 (plus whatever academy and father-son bids come in)
Hence why I'm trying to work out the best way to get Harry Dean and Cody Walker without considering that draft into it
I can't find any confirmation that Tassie is even playing a full VFL season in 2026.Side note - It's pretty bloody ridiculous that we have entered into an overlap now of future trading and Tasmania's first draft with no guidance from the AFL. I don't mind this.Wonder if something like this would be something we'd look at
TDK pick + 2026 Carlton 1st
For
Essendon 2025 1st + 2025 2nd + 2026 2nd
Josh Lindsay - Ess 1st
Harry Dean - Ess 2nd + Blues 2nd
Jack Ison - Blues 3rd
Mingara Clarke - Rookie
Jade Gresham - Rookie
Go into 2026 with two 2nds for Cody bid (will need more but it's a start)
Doesn't leave much for us to use on trades unless we trade out some other names to clear space and get more picks.
Makes sense, any names on ooc lists you like or would you expect something to come up at trade time?Yes.
A deficit will impact our matching Cody, but probably not much.
My guess is our preferred option would be to trade the TDK compo for a player/players with picks coming back.
Say a targeted player to shift #8ish down to a mid to late teens pick. Or down to a 2nd rounder.
And then trade some other player/s out for later picks (Gov for a 3rd?)
