Review R20: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly vs. Port: Like taking candy from a baby

The good was that performance, the bad was a hammy to Max... the ugly, our opponents and their toothless display. Nearly 70 scoring shots across the 2 games in that weather.

But what impresses me is how we go about it. For so long we were a club of individuals, ir there's a bit of push and shove on ground, it was up to the player in question to fight his battle.... now its 1 in, all in.

Every little 1%er win is celebrated big time. The tackles, spoils, tap ons.... and ROBs goal, they came from everywhere.

Surprises me with their ins that they still only won against the Blues by 24

Game was over pretty early though.

Pedlar just isn't quite doing enough for mine, but I want him to succeed so happy enough to see him stay.

All their players right now only playing fir the $$ no culture there no winning mindset they are just are on the verge of going into afl oblivion right now as they have failed to deliver on their creed their mission statement of 3 premierships in 5 years and have brought in a whole bunch of spuds to the club that give them nothing…

My popcorn is ready for this because I don’t think Josh Carr is the answer either.. I actually don’t know what is for them…

I'm getting sick of "we're playing youngsters" excuse .....what, after 8 years of top 4 Draft Picks, and how many rounds of Draft Assistance from the AFL !!

Why do NORTH keep drafting MIDS ....no KPP, despite a plethora of options over all those years

They opted for Duursma over Curtin ....Phillips over Logan McDonald .....and with all those Drafted Mids, they go and get another Mid in the trade,Parker .....WTF !

To see the effort the players were still putting in in that last qtr was huge.

Get the ball to our forwards and they’ll score.
Our defence is killing it. Lots of talent in there now and they’ve played a number of games together. Curtin dropping back has helped. Since he’s playing wing our defence has gone up another level.

Midfield getting the job done. If we can add NWM we will be a premiership contender for years to come.

Still can't believe we won by nearly 100.

I stood in that rain, in an area that is usually dry when it rains.

But seeing how wet it was on TV....sheesh.

And we pulled away in that second quarter when it waa bad


This side has genuine grunt.

We played 5 poor minutes late in the first and they kicked 3 goals. Other than that I am pretty sure their other two goals came from a series of free kicks - they just did not look like scoring at all

It'll take a while for HAW the gel as a unit ....they are significant in's

People underestimate the importance of team chemistry ....the Crows are now being lauded for that chemistry ......knowing what your teammates will do, trusting they'll be in their correct positioning .....so much is based around instinctive play

It overshadows the need to "try" youngsters

Two things are clear.

This list build has been excellent - and it's most impressive for the amount of depth it has. The strength is players 15+, not just the top of the list.

And this coaching group is the best in the league. Nicks is an absolute certainty to win Coach of the Year - but Hombsch should also win assistant coach. This is a fantastically well drilled group. They're perfectly positioned and spaced and they all know exactly what their teammates are expecting of them. And how good is Burgess!

There isn't a ceiling in this group.

I don’t reckon he will. If he wants to come home why delay it to keep playing with a rabble?

He knows if he plays for us he’s playing in front of big crowds and with a team that has gone through their rebuild and will be premiership contenders for years to come.

It’s a no brainer if he wants to try and win a flag.
