I may be way off the mark here but I have an eerie feeling after watching Lyon's presser yesterday.

I still feel like we've f*cked around on this. We should have had an offer in front of him that blew the S.A clubs away months ago.
After what happened yesterday, him leaving before that would’ve rip the soul out of the fans and club, now that yesterday happened I don’t know how we’d ever recover.

I agree with one of the above posts, so far the last we heard from his manager was that if he was a betting man he’d say he would be staying, that’s the best info we have at this point.

Sat back and crossed the arms

I didn't like it

Oppo fan here but I’m quite invested in this so I went and watched Ross’ presser after reading comments here.

His body language changed when talking about NAS’s contract, crossed his arms. No twinkle in his eye or smirk which you’d expect if Ross was privy to positive news (he’s a football coach, not an actor, after all).

NAS is clearly not the type of personality to string this out because he likes the attention. He was uncomfortable just doing post-game interviews yesterday.

To my untrained eye it seems he’s genuinely undecided, or at least that Ross has no indication of his intentions.

I really hope he stays with the Saints, it’s been too long since you’ve had a box office player (Riewoldt?) and you deserve one.

The reality we need to be making clear to Nas is if you choose to leave you run the risk of going into the draft because Port have nothing to offer.

If Port want him they need to find out what's happening with Butters or one of their other guns. You can't get the best player in the comp with junk future first round picks.

💯 I think this will be our tactic all in good time. We need to pull every lever to make him stay. He loves his mates here and he knows if he walks out on the club their chances of success crash. Seems like he wants to build something at the saints.

Imagine being a Port fan up at 6am shadow liking posts in this thread
Yep. StFly can you shoo this irritating Port pest with his constant sarcastic laughing emojis? Young Gun #6.

I did it ONCE on a Blues thread and got a months reaction ban.

I think with this we do, but in a balanced way, it shouldn’t be a threat, just a presentation of the facts, Port can’t satisfy anything resembling fair value for him right now, unless they move stuff around and find a way to make a trade palatable we can’t really make it work.

Port are about to go into new coach phase and have no assets. They literally have nothing to offer us and from a footballing perspective have nothing to offer Nas. I think Nas would be foolish to jump now even if it’s to be around family.
Not sure a 22 year old actually needs to be seeing their family every week tbh but each to their own.

Jack Whitlock.

Buts that’s even a stretch apparently. Morphed into a #1 pick generational talent over night the other week on the Port board.

😂

I have a feeling that reaction was directed towards the manager rather than Nas himself. The comments from Dilena and RTB previously show they are getting pissed with the manager.

Definitely wouldn’t hurt and worth a crack. Saints need to target talent that is stuck in the reserves from GWS, GC.
Reckon Boxshall will just grow into that position nicely.

The issue with picking off talent from elsewhere instead of just developing your own is that you have to pay a premium to get them. Let someone else have Davies, let my boy Hugh grow and develop into our Dunkley
