I listened to Brian Cook explain this at a lunch once when G Ablett was being courted by Suns ….Cook explained they left the agreeable amount Cats could offer Ablett up to the senior playing group (I think he meant the core of that group eg Bartels etc) and they did this to maintain integrity in the culture they had built and that was team success over all your eggs in 1 players basket for $$

Yes, your better players will always get more and Nas will deserve that too the question is how much before that becomes a stopper on what you’re trying to do with the whole team??

If it's Geelong it's probably pick 26 or something.Very thin draft too. I's a first round draft pick for $1 million a year x 8 or whatever it is on top of Marshall's wage. Bloody expensive pick.
