Disappointing night, but they've made obvious strides in 2025.
Rankine was a huge loss on the eve of Finals, he has been such a Talisman for them before his homophobic transgression.
I never thought they were a genuine top 4 team in 2025 despite being minor premiers, however they are clearly in the top half of the comp and they presumably have improvement in the list additional to the returning Rankine.

Yeah I agree. Not really surprised to see them go out in straight sets. A very even team but aside from Rankine, not a lot of players that can really cut up. Seemed to go into their shells for the finals

Apparently some type of virus affected a few players (in both games?) but yeah, they didn't really attack the games, too bogged down in their process and their gameplan.
Still, if I was a Crows fan I'd find some silver lining in this season despite the unpleasant finish (and it's always an unpleasant finish unless you're Premiers)

Good season but my god was he out coached badly in both finals. Seemed to do very little homework or come with a plan to stop opposition and was predictable himself. Not going to work in finals. Really limp effort.

If you were told start of the season Adelaide make week 2 of finals, they'd take that. You need to be in finals first before you win the whole thing. Great season, can't be too down.

Even if they didn't handle that like some (or most) here would have liked they shouldn't have played both finals in such a dumb and limp way.

Did you see Nicks "coaching". Newcombe smashed Berry until Dawson was on him and what does he do tonight??? Rachele is 100% fit and play him as the sub??? Defense win Finals and select 8 defenders and goes back to his slow game plan until the game was over.
Two home finals

There's just not enough A-grade talent for them to improve.. Overachieved this season and will come crashing down next season and miss finals.

Could have gone unbeaten (23-0) in the season and then swept out of the finals. There is no (insert word) guarantees!
History proves that and it certainly can happen.
But hopefully history changes as well.
