Back in 2017 they probably beat Richmond in the qualifier. They could have made and won the grand final perhaps. More than likely. The AFL are greedy in they look after themselves they just care about more tickets and more money. They could of had a prelim vs the Lions last year too. Geelong get shafted they shouldn't have to play at the G.

Thoughts?

They would lose to Freo again.

In all seriousness though, until Geelong has a 100,000 seat stadium things won't change. Same goes for teams based at Docklands.
If for example Geelong play Gold Coast in a semi why should it be at the MCG if 40,000 go? Gold Coast don’t have to play at the GABBA.

I am not that fussed but it pi55es me off when posters say Geelong gets everything on a silver platter.

Shouldn't the integrity of the 'home' final be paramount, as opposed to who the match is against?

Yes it should but the AFL has always valued money over integrity, it’s why they made the Swans play finals in Sydney at the Homebush dump over the SCG.

I probably should have elaborated what I meant a little further but it would depend on circumstance, if we had the same scenario as 2013 in that all finals where in Victoria and you guys had to play an expansion team, then yes I think a Geelong home final makes sense.

I don’t think a Cats v GWS/Suns final would actually get that much of a bigger crowd at the G than Kardinia Park.
