I formulated this equation 22 minutes into the last Q at AAMI Stadium yesterday. It's right up there with E=MC2 in my opinion.
What a waste of time & money!

Why do you think I came back to Melbourne after 6 months?

There's some decent (looking) women over there, but nobody is worth having to deal with that on a daily basis.

It is sad that for some reason there are a few supporters of this club who justify their opinion of Adelaide on their experiences at AAMI Stadium. It is hard enough living in Adelaide trying to increase membership without negative posts from some people on this forum. I have lived in Adelaide all my life and have supported the Roos for 30+ years, yesterday i heard comments like i hate Adelaide it is a sh**hole. This came from a staff member who's entire experience of Adelaide would be travelling from the hotel to AAMI and quite frankly i was embarrassed. If i was a supporter thinking of becoming a member i would probably wait a bit longer after hearing something like that. If we are trying to boost membership it may be an idea to not base your opinion of an entire state on one venue in Adelaide. On my first trip to the MCG as a kangaroos supporter i was treated like crap by a staff member of our great club and could have easily not rejoined, fortunately that lady no longer works there. However i would like to run into her again one day. I think Melbourne is a great city but i have been to some parts that arent that great, i still base my opinion on the city as a whole not one part of it.

I've lived in SA all my life and lived in Adelaide for 3 years, but what was on show yesterday at Footy Park was worse than the wilds of Louisiana.

So where does Geelong stand then?

Gaso

Cue the banjos! :p

North served up crap yesterday. AAMI, Telstra Dome, MCG, Deakin Reserve.....doesn't matter where, it was crap and not fair to the supporters who travelled over or the North supporters who live in SA.

PS Enjoyed travelling on the bus to and from the game.

I saw nothing wrong there yesterday. Are these opinions based purely on the fact that you lost and us Power supporters were so happy?

Have you got even one shred of evidence to back up this claim?

I've worked in all mainland states over the last 20 years and I know you are wrong.

Yes Adelaide does have a big country town feel to it, but come on son, what was so hillbilly except your attempt to draw a conclusion?

Probably the latter.

I had never been to FP ‘till yesterday, and I was pretty impressed. I loved the whole culture of having a BBQ in the car park before the game, I hadn't seen that before.

My experiences with the port fans was good. There were one or two exceptions, but that is to be expected no matter who you play. Of course, it could have been different if we won, but that’s all hypothetical.

Good luck next week, I hope you make a game of it but eventually lose :p

Adelaide is what it is. Plenty of things that s*** me about the place, the local parochialism being the main thing. But overall its a good place to live.
People hang stuff on it that its the big country town, and yeah its true to a degree. Thats its charm. But Hillbilly, please.

Live overseas, been in a few places that make Melbourne look small. Its all relative.

I am sure its not intended and aimed at the Roos fans in SA, but its hard enough to take the constant crap from locals about footy without fellow Roos digging the boots into your home city. :(

AAMI was pretty feral yesterday, not sure my wife ever wants to go again. It got so bad in the last quarter that my wife moved my six year old son 3 seats down because of a drunk swearing at him while i was grabbing a beer at the bar. When you have to stand up out of your seat, tap a guy on the shoulder, tell him to sit down and enjoy his game or else I wouldn't be leaving him in a fit state to watch is GF on saturday, its just sad. At least his mate's girlfriend thanked me for not punching his lights out.

Focusing on the positives, thnakfully there were plenty of other decent fans to balance out the peanuts. Do much prefer watching the footy in Melbourne though.:thumbsu:

I was verbally r*ped yesterday when trying to catch a taxi...never felt so violated before.

I never said a word. just hurried along as I was by myself. But I had the blue and white on so I was always going to cop it.

Even walking to the plane the virgin blue boys where lined up giving out their fair share. Poo effort Virgin Blue.

Verbally r*ped, thats sounds bad, I was on my own too, but no-one said anything derogatory, I do give a bit of evil eye though, as for Virgin Blue ppl saying things thats a disgrace and most ppl would write a letter or email to the company fro that sort of stuff, btw are you male or female?, I'm thinking of what they would've said to elicit the verbal rape statement, sounds extremely nasty.
As for the thread title, makes me laugh every time I read it.

I have just got back on the bus and I must say that Adelaide as a "Town" is nice and Welcoming And to all you local Roo supporters you do our club proud:thumbsu:.

But to those Port supporters who constantly booed Arch, swore continually at my wife and kids and to top it off the Dikchead who started pi**ing in our direction on the way back to our bus:mad::mad: have a good look at yourselves.

Was there yesterday and the Port supporters were overall quite good compared to Adelaide supporters at games i have previously attended at AAMI. I have seen North supporters king hit and kicked at Adelaide games there in the past. There was none of that yesterday but given we lost by 87 you wouldn't imagine they had too much to get upset about. Just remember that every club has a few idiot supporters.

We stayed in Glenelg and that area was lovely. The locals there cheered for us and we had the lady tell us not to park our car there in case it gets damaged.

We were verbally r*ped as well. We got out of the taxi where the shed was and we was abused by the power fans while they were having BBQ's and getting pissed. Saying Fu*k off back 2 victoria and the like.

We happened to get Bay133 seats which was there army and we were seriously outnumbered and copping it from this 1 pissed bloke. We could handle it until they all started puttin shit on Arch. We said enoughs enough and when we asked r u a member he replied no

After the game was the worst copping shit from every port fan in the car park and the public transport is a joke. Besides the power fans I rated Glenelg and Adelaide highly.

Sounds like what I would expect from a hillbilly town full of rednecks. It's ok though, they don't realise that the rest of Australia is laughing at their magnificent "city".

remind me not to use you as our membership manager in Adelaide, thats another 4 we are probably going to have to find

the core of the outer army resided in bay 132 and we chanted away to ourselves all day long, only time we had digs at the roos fans were late in the match when u scored a goal and they decided to cheer finally lol. other than that we had great respect for your mob. every club has a few dip shits, thats a given dont base your arguement on a few individuals. i really wonder if your supporters would give a port adelaide great a standing ovation after a match like we did for archer. anyway u guys had a great season best of luck for '08.

It's funny. Even though I go to every home game, and some interstate games, I have never seen the type of behaviour some people are talking about.
