Thursday, and gameday again!

I don't care how ugly or how little we win by, I just want to win this game. If we could win by a shanked point after the siren off a free kick (ha ha, as if we'd ever get that!), it would still be a good result. Let's GO GIANTS!!

Who are we ‘shanking’?

I'm curious to see who's named sub tonight, with McMullin and Rowston the two likely options. I hope Toby gets a start but understand if they choose Harry as the 'gruntier' option against the stacked Bulldogs midfield.

Think it will have be Rowston as the sub. McMullin will be needed to fill Kelly's role on the wing.

It's the one aspect where Toby's absence might be helpful. Umps seem to have it in for him.
Indeed, Toby's absence might also save him from a greater display of red mist, and a worse outcome!

If he lost control against a mate (Heeney), what might he do against blokes he actually dislikes in a critical game?

This is such a crucial game in determining where we will finish up. This is the hardest of our remaining games this season - win, and we should end up with 16 wins and a great chance of taking the 4th spot. Lose, and not only is top 4 gone but if results from other games go against us, we could conceivably not even make the finals with 15 wins due to our relatively weaker %.

However, the pressure on the Bulldogs is going to be much worse. If they lose, the Bulldogs can only get to a maximum of 14 wins (which includes a game vs Freo at Marvel), and will need Hawthorn to lose 3 of their remaining games, or failing that a series of improbable results for the other contenders.

Whilst expecting a loss given the lack of some key players and a recent lack of success against the Bulldogs, I am hopeful that somehow we get a win. A win that could enhance our top 4 chances, and at the same time deal a devastating blow to the Bulldogs finals aspirations.
