Depends on what you consider as a spread

For example
Players who have played 5 or more games
Collingwood, Geelong, Freo, Brisbane have had 28 players
Gold Coast, Hawks 27
Adelaide 29
Dogs, Giants 30

So you could argue our spread has been a little more than most of our rivals
Don’t bring your fancy facts into the conversation please

The key factor is the difference between us and the opposition. If we have a 6 daybreak and the opposition have an 8 day break is that a disadvantage?

The other key factor is playing at home or away. A 6 day break is no big deal imho if we are playing consecutive home games.

I agree with other posters that the clear disadvantage was the Geelong match. Five days versus 6 days for Geelong and returning from what was always going to be draining conditions in Queensland.
The next tough one is home vs Collingwood, with us coming back from Perth, they have 2 days extra break.
Playing 4:40 on Sunday in Perth is just cruel.

I do wonder how we'll treat next week.

If we win tonight you might see 5 or 6 changes.
It's a pity McAndrew is injured as would have been a great opportunity to manage ROB.

Expect Laird would be back in, but should bring in some fringe players before finals like Nankervis, Dowling & perhaps Crouch. Pedlar too.

Rest anyone who is a bit sore.

And yet we declined the heat policy

Since, according to many Bigfooty posters, Nicks is the worst coach in the history of the game why would that surprise you?

It’s been a tough 2 months, don’t despair relief may only be hours away.
What does this drivel have anything to do with my post? You brought up coming back from a short day break in the heat and I mentioned we knocked back the heat policy, clearly we didn’t think the short break was an issue.

Why can’t you address that point rather than deflecting?

If we win tonight we should already have top 2 sewn up.

We wont be losing to North
We would need to beat the Eagles too to get top 2 (most likely). Which is what that post was saying I assume. Basically need to win 3 of our last 4 and stay ahead of Geelong on percentage.

I know Geelong have easy games to come, but we should still be able to stay above them % wise.

Tonight is the night though.

Agree - but if we lost to West Coast we would likely miss top 2 even if we win tonight and beat North, so next week still has to be a win, ideally a pretty comfortable one. I think we can easily rest a few players and beat West Coast, of course. But we wouldn't take it too lightly.

Why and how would we be losing to West Coast ??

They're SANFL standard.

If we lose to West Coast, we would deserve to miss the top 2!

Not happening though.

Rumour on Melbourne radio is they’re looking at a late change for one of the key forwards
Won't matter much as we just need to concentrate on our own game.
