What is your last catch?

Can also be others things that live in the water.

Last fish I caught, a flatty about 65cm in Port Phillip Bay (and yes that was my 7am beer bottom left):

I really want to learn how to fish from the beach. I reckon I would love it
It’s a bit of that awe thing for me as well on the beach.
Kilcunda is really dramatic really steep to the shore break and alotve moving water.
I’m looking at the waves and I know water can’t move by itself, it’s not the water that’s moving it’s energy in the water that’s moving it and it’s that strong that it can move tonnes of wet sand in a couple of hrs.
I flipping love it.

I would love to learn surf fishing as well. I spent 4 nights in Marlo last week and it sounded like the surf fishing was where it was at. I went down to investigate Point Ricardo and honestly, my only strategy would be to bomb it as long as I could 😂

I couldn't read a beach to save my life.

Hard to tell but if you walked in till it’s hitting your knees what she’s pointing at might 40-50 mtr

I’ve got a 10.5ft light outfit for throwing metals and small baits.
I think I could get close to that with a basic rig with Squid or Pilchard
I can throw a 40gm lure about 60mtr and more if the winds behind me.

Thing is too, if the tide is running in it’ll push all bait off that sandbar into the gutter in front of it
You don’t have to get all the way onto it.

Tide going out isn’t exactly the opposite but not as good.

Alotve the time you only have to get out to over the first breaker if the tide is along way in

I think my problem is my beach stuff is way too heavy. I might look at getting a lighter surf rig.

TYVM i will have to give this a go

Been a bit lazy since my last fishing outing back in April which was up to fishing paradise at Quobba Station but these are my most recent catches. Fishing was a bit slow over all but managed a PB Spangled Emperor (tasted amazing) and a horse of a Dart that went 65cm. Only ever caught them around 20-25cm in Perth so was suprised to land one this size, also suprising as i was using 8/0 hooks and they have tiny mouths.

When the idea of a fishing board was floated a couple of months ago I confessed that while having an interest in fishing, I was a terrible fisherman, and despite numerous attempts, I'd never actually caught one (even from my own dam). Well, today I finally did it...
