How do we know it's 1.8 per year for 7 years? Is it possible the media have it wrong and it's very front ended at 1.8 and averages 1.3-1.4 for the life of the deal. After 2 years settles to 1.2. which is ok in this day and age of cap increases. The media have no idea about salaries. They aren't public.

He's a "ruckman" - couldn't possibly think he could provide a contest in the fwd line.
Best thing was that he gets to the right spots and being 204 cm and 100kg's means he's wins a few free kicks.
Unfortunate his kicking was off a bit today - usually a very reliable set shot.

If Nas was definitely gone, Ross would have parked him at half back for the rest of the season.
He wouldn't be developing him as a midfielder and forward, plus making sure the ball goes in to his hands at all times.
He is either staying or is undecided/the club doesn't know his decision.

For the first time in a long time, I actually think our midfield isn't the concern, at least if Nas stays.
TDK/Marshall (either or), Nas, Phillipou, Garcia is a great centre line. Wilson is putting his hand up to be included in that. Boxshall is looking great. And we have some really solid rotation players in Hall, Windhager, hopefully Travalia. That's before you get to the old guard of Macrae, Steele, Clark etc.
I think if anything we need some key position depth, and a solid tall defender to pair with Wilkie (someone in the Howard mould, but able to get on the ground would be fine, someone in the Darcy Moore mould would be much, much better), and of course a KPF, which is hopefully King but who knows
Did get a message from someone who was in the rooms post game and some well known Saints fans (one being quite invested in the club) were congratulating Nas.

Common knowledge? The media keep increasing it. It was 1.6 early in the year. I heard 1.9 last week from a few places. There's no way we're increasing the offer since our first offer, we know we have him. They are guesses. It goes around the media because media just quote each other's stories. Salaries are not made public and st kilda or TDKs side would have no reason to leak it. TDK wouldn't want the pressure. I'm not saying it isn't 1.7 but we can't make definitive statements that it is. And if it is 1.7 for the first 2 then 1.2 for the last 5, I'm not against that. He's disinterested rn along with every blues player but I think he's got incredibly high upside, has super clean skills for a ruck. We have tons of cap space rn so front ending offers makes sense, otherwise our cap space gets wasted.

Don't forget the TPP rises to 18m at the end of 2027. I would assume that we have banked around 3m over the past 4 years paying 95%. You could almost pay 5.5 in the first 2 years leaving 1.3m per year from 2027.
Still seems a lot but at that time when the TPP has lifted by an additional 3m giving additional headroom.
If you don't pay the overs in the first two years, the benefit is gone and you can't use it at all.
Not sure how it's structured but there are a few ways of skinning this cat.
In 12 months time, they’ll be begging for Hinkley to return.

Nas asked for his first born but we've negotiated for the youngest one by the looks of it. He's furthest from being eligible for father son so won't hurt us for 18 years.
