We have enough dead wood that we can bring in three first round picks, our three NGAs and still add four or five mature bodies. We should be targeting Cameron to boost the ruck, a Davies, Erasmus or Dev, and one senior player. And we should throw cash at whoever will come. Start with Neale and Cripps then work your way down until you get someone, even if it’s Crouch or Mitchell.
You would need to delist/trade out 12-13 players to make that happen. Probably a bit much and not sure we even have that many out of contract.

Anyone could see SPS was a dud, likewise calves Langdon.

Agree on Dev, although our teenage girl bracket support would improve, particularly if we give him a jumper made out of tissue paper.
Not likely, we're not with Castore anymore mate.

Too old for us 30 in December
Within bounds of reasonableness ‘age’ per se should only be a consideration and not something to put a line through someone. If they are durable and bring consistency, leadership, training prowess etc to the table they have to be considered.

We’re unlikely to get A graders but we have to take incremental steps.

Without on and off field leadership to guide our kids they will become disheartened and will be lost to WCE.

Carlton mod cracked the shits about the Cripps thread on the D&T board and locked it 'as per board rules' yet half the threads are just speculation and rumours but stay open.

LMFAO.

Probably a blasphemous thing to say, but his body's cooked for a guy who plays 17 games in Victoria a year, imagine getting him on a plane every second week :grimacing:.

Would probably add more on field value than Yeo at least.

The mod in questions an absolute DH and total hypocrite on so many issues.
He pairs well with the hawks FW.

Putting trying to trade for 17 players over the age of 30 to one side for a minute, why do people think we'd be able to get Darcy Wilson?
He's a Victorian who seems to be fairly well entrenched in the Saints best 23 and contracted for next year. I don't see why he'd come here.

Realistically what are our options with our WAFL team. I can help but think Nisbett had a terrible relationship with the WAFL and that some limitations put on us may not have been there if different people were in charge. If we cannot develop talent in the 2nds, I feel we will always struggle in the 1st’s. Can we go back to an alignment model? We can barely field a legitimate AFL team, fixing both competitions to foster a sausage factory of good feeder development will be a very long slog.
Some advantages are lost with an alignment model. TBH most teams probably have the same footy objectives of kicking inboard, switching, pressure on the ball etc. But slower play like Simmo vs fast play like McQualter will take a while to impliment when split up.

He’s not. Been playing 2s, he’s obviously pissed off Ross. Ross said he dropped himself to the 2s then his manager came out said that’s bullshit.

In no rush to extend. Hawks pick would be perfect.

I think Dyson Sharp is your Ollie Wines type. Wines is that tough bugger whose deceptively good in the air. Despite not being fast he moves from contest to contest because he is rarely knocked off balance so is able to just power to each contest.

Id be surprised if he isnt that 25 touches, 8 tackles, 8 clearance style footballer
Sharp isn't this good. I'm 3/4 sure he maxes out at Jack Viney level despite being not nearly as good at contested ball.

Thought he was out injured, I don't pay much attention to the Saints.
But is there a reason he'd come here instead of staying in Victoria? Is there some sort of connection?

Agree greatwhiteshark that whatever senior player we get in must be available every week.

That automatically put the highlight pen through the injury prone Mitchell and Duncan suggestions from Bartel.

If the senior players we chase aren’t durable then it’s pointless chasing them.

As bog average as Dev is, I would prefer him because of his availability, to Tom Mitchell by way of example.

Been an advocate for a Tom Mitchell type but have to agree that at his age his injuries are an issue we dont need. But we do need sobs one with his ball getting ability so that Harley and co can develop better.
So who they get well god knows but we definitely need some experienced mids.

Who knows the cut off date for assistant coaches to be notified they will not be getting a new contract? I thoght it was about now.
Yeah there is a story today about the Roos assistant that hasn’t been given a contract. They said in the article August 1st is about the date when if you haven’t been given a deal or negotiating one, you probably should be looking elsewhere. Not sure where that leaves our guys.

Hawthorn 1st + next year's first.

Not the craziest, considering the projected picks 1 and 2 look club tied, yet again, and we have 2x NGA projected to possibly go in the first round.

I mean, I wouldn't take it but it's far from the worst idea bandied around these parts.
Cripps is cooked. The drop off will be very SHARP

No connection to WCE whatsoever other than good mates with Harley.

Money talks and pick 12 is more than fair, might see if it can also take Steele off their hands to pay NWM. Darcy would beat Fridge and Ginbey in the time trial and VO2.
