I’m definitely leaning towards gone, but it is strange that there have really been no whispers either way in the media (recently). Usually these things are out there, even if they turn out to be wrong.
Very interesting, it’s crazy the bad luck the dees have had after finally building such a good list. From the melksham-may fight, straight sets, brayshaw, Gawn-Grundy saga, Oliver drug problem, Petracca kings birthday, Jackson and Neal bullpen leaving and our 3qt comeback. Has any team had a worse run of incidents ever and a bigger fall from grace? In 2021 you couldn’t see any team being near there talent for the next 5 years.Very interesting read, in relation to list management, and just all the ways things can go right and wrong in footy. And yet Dees still broke their drought and got their flag.
Just as easily as everything can go to shit, things can change for the better as well. Would be interesting to compare to say Richmond who managed to succeed in their dynasty potential.

Yes, but Port won't be able to because they wouldn't have taken the minimum amount of first round picks in a 3 year period (I think). Would need to be ticked off from the AFL.Has it been confirmed yet that you can trade picks two years in the future ?
Let’s remember that the Dees got a huge leg up from the AFL - appointing Paul Roos and plenty of draft concessions. Didn’t exactly do it on their own.Very interesting read, in relation to list management, and just all the ways things can go right and wrong in footy. years so long as we gave Tex and Cho a spot would you do it?On Agenda Setters they said there are no takers for Oliver. Average form, poor behaviour and a sky rocketing contract means Melbourne are stuck with him for another 4 years. The Goodwin sacking is so interesting. A Premiership Coach* that never got the best out of his players or list after 2021. Reportedly very well liked by the players, so it’ll be interesting to see if there are any ramifications.
I wonder what someone like Pickett is feeling, after re-signing long-term. And if Oliver and Petracca decide to move on now that there’ll be a new coach.
*COVID year, doesn’t count
Quite frankly, if Port think they are going to give us two future draft picks from heavily compromised drafts as compensation because he is out of contract and we should take whatever we can get, I'd rather the club just send him to the PSD and get nothing.

in many ways they are more embaressing than us,in fact only the 2021 flag saves themVery interesting, it’s crazy the bad luck the dees have had after finally building such a good list. The Melbourne flag is a tough one if we're being honest. We all want to see a Saints flag in our lifetimes, just one. But would you take it if:On Agenda Setters they said there are no takers for Oliver. Average form, poor behaviour and a sky rocketing contract means Melbourne are stuck with him for another 4 years.
Similar for Petracca. He’s just average now. But his arrogance in anointing clubs who he thought were worthy of his brilliance has turned most away.
A few might still be interested, but at little trade cost and Melbourne paying a large chunk of his inflated contract. Petracca is nothing more than a salary dump now.
Demons are in a world of pain. Their best players are old. Time for a rebuild.
Not all that strange - his manager is clearly running a very tight ship, as any info that gets leaked to the Saints, Port or Adelaide (or to the wider media) impacts what those clubs are willing to offer him, which takes away the ability to leverage those offers against each other.I’m definitely leaning towards gone, but it is strange that there have really been no whispers either way in the media (recently). Captain a father son (Viney was at one posing wasn’t he?).Let’s remember that the Dees got a huge leg up from the AFL - appointing Paul Roos and plenty of draft concessions. Didn’t exactly do it on their own.
Brayshaw was pick 3 from the priority pick for James Frawley. Pick 3!!!
Oh, and of course, Petracca was a gift from the Saints - but better we don’t go there again!
every day of the week and a thousand times on SundayIf Naz said he would stay foryears so long as we gave Tex and Cho a spot would you do it?
Yes, easily. Not even a question. The Melbourne flag is a tough one if we're being honest. We all want to see a Saints flag in our lifetimes, just one. But would you take it if:
- you couldn't be there for the Grand Final
- it was followed by what will probably be a decade of disappointment?
It's another reason it's really important to keep Nas, as the seas may be parting for us a little if we can. Melbourne, Carlton and Port Adelaide (if they don't have to give anything real up for Nas) are heading for long rebuilds. Richmond, West Coast and North still seem a way off. Essendon keep Essendoning. Excluding the top nine, that leaves just Sydney and us outside the group contending for finals.
There's a cliff coming at Collingwood at some stage soon-ish. More unfilfilled potential will eventually see Beveridge move on. Fremantle remain unreliable (in hot form at the moment to be sure).
Feels like we're one step away. It's a big step and one we can't seem to make yet, but it feels imminent. As long as we keep Nas.

Who is Cho?If Naz said he would stay foryears so long as we gave Tex and Cho a spot would you do it?
I said it earlier. Threat that we’ll send him to the draft/psd. If port/crows don’t agree to deals that are ridiculously in our favour.I'm of the same view.
Unless we get offered something objectively decent in return for nas- we are better off in the long run I believe accepting nothing and sending him to the psd.
Bassat has used words to rail against the league supporting nepo babies and the likes of lolnorf... while letting us wither on the vine.
Words without action won't change this.
If we take a stand and act by giving up a couple of crap future picks that wont get us any closer to a flag... then we get closer to a flag I believe, by making the league take bassats words seriously.
Lose the battle, win the war.
Alan Richardson. Apparently he wants to hear him say his game was ‘significantly pleasing’ every weekWho is Cho?
Is that just a spitballing question?
