Makes sense to me. We wanted Morris. It had to be Hine. Fly isn't watching much of the kids. He's reading the specs and watching some footage. The specs are undersized and a bit slow. And the footage isn't anything special either. I think it takes a recruiter to watch him enough to realise that he's super smart and reads the ball in the air better than anyone else around. There's a post on Voy that referenced Caro saying that Hine wanted Morris but Fly wanted HDM
Really struggling to process this
That's all well and good providing the existing players aren't being paid unders. All players know you have to pay overs to get good players into you club, especially if you want to stay at the pointy end of the ladder.
The alternative is to be like North or St Kilda, where no players want to go, regardless of what they have been offered.

There would be plenty of players at all clubs that could potentially get more if they went elsewhere. That's all well and good providing the existing players aren't being paid unders.
That black Clubby suits him to a tee.I can believe that Gold Coast asked about McCreery in a trade given we’ve been looking at Rowell or King.
I can’t believe we said no and that we had to tell Beau they enquired because we’re likely obliged to.
I can also believe Beau laughed at it and drove off dropping doughnuts in his HSV commodore, but not in the direction of Queensland.
It’s almost as if the people that bought into this one from Ralphy haven’t seen his Insta. It’s not hard to put two and two together on a what if scenario of a Rowell trade:I can believe that Gold Coast asked about McCreery in a trade given we’ve been looking at Rowell or King.

I’d celebrate if we found backline upgrades and didn’t have to sign Dean or Frampton. It’s almost as if the people that bought into this one from Ralphy haven’t seen his Insta. It’s not hard to put two and two together on a what if scenario of a Rowell trade:
Ralphy ****nuckle: Hey Craig I’ve had it up to my back teeth with the Pies they seriously think they’re it and a bit so I’m keen to stir up their fans. In a hypothetical world where Rowell ask to go there who would you have asked for in return?
Cameron: McReery. Dudes legit.
Make no mistake this has nothing to do with players being disgruntled and everything to do with Ralphy’s straight up jealousy and pettiness. Ultimately both Dean and Frampton are without contracts for 2026 so they and there managers would be within their rights to be disgruntled with the chase of Silvagni. The unrest could legitimately be those two and it’s a story of “Collingwood players uneasy with their list build”…
Makes sense. A better environment, winning culture and a guaranteed best 22 spot is the pitch and something he values more over the cash.
I understand the reality but loyalty is a two way street. There would be plenty of players at all clubs that could potentially get more if they went elsewhere.
Some do choose to stay on less $ for future success with their club & loyalty.
And clubs still do need to fit players in within the salary cap & list availabilities. And that's just the reality.
They also need to try and get better every year. We've been bringing in 2-3 experienced players every year under Fly.
A positive Ralph piece on Collingwood?
Yes? … yes? (Can’t see the article but I hope so)
Dogs or Cats for Butters.Pendles Sidebottom and Howe all retire at the end of next year that would surely free up enough to go after Butters?
Any decent footy club welcomes new additions - they improve the chances of team success. And today's players all know that signings, esp FAs, attract a premium. Why is it crazy? Aren't Howe and Billy uncontracted?
If we bring in JSOS, he'll play every game, like Shooter, Houston and Perryman have - they have only missed games when injured or suspended.
