Ive seen it in his multiple SANFL games.
Probably doesn't suit the slow crappy style of playing against plumbers and electricians in the SANFL.
Looked to have oodles of composure at AFL level.

I hope it is not something stupid like keeping him eligible for the Rising Star next yearIt is a bit frustrating, but the club have clearly decided he needs to play out this year in the SANFL. They do appear to have quite a rigid plan with first year players.
Yeah, I think they've already missed the opportunity thereFixed it for you
The thing that doesn't matter, and has never mattered? His SANFL stats don't look like it

There's a depressing thought in my mind where we're insane enough to be trying to preserve his Rising Star chances for next season noting he's currently on 9 games.
Surely not ...
He showed more than enough to be invested in.Probably doesn't suit the slow crappy style of playing against plumbers and electricians in the SANFL.

Burgess is a bit disappointing, thought it was a good chance to unleash Murray Beast Mark II
I love Schoey, but I think in this group, he probably missed his window to establish himself as a 1st choice mid. I hope he gets another gig, but I can't see how it would be with us in 2026Does anyone hold out hope for shoey to still work out? Would be an amazing story. Feels like he might have finally matured and realised the hard work it takes to make it. Has been really good at sanfl . Maybe not a popular view but I’d love to see him work out. What a bonus they would be. Don’t lump him with Murphy. Never had the chances he’s had

The **** are you talking about? Schoenberg was a first choice inside midfielder for about 10-15 weeks. He pissed away a golden opportunity to be a long term player.
I agree, don't lump him with Murphy, who scratched out a decent career from the edges. Murph never failed to the calibre Schoey did.
I'm betting that they want to be sure is back issues are 100% and his fitness and body will be more AFL ready and give him clean air.... with rising star as a bonus. They might think he's got the ability to win Rising Star and want him to have every opportunity to win. They may well think playing him will rob him of the opportunity for the accolades. There's a depressing thought in my mind where we're insane enough to be trying to preserve his Rising Star chances for next season noting he's currently on 9 games.

Everyone entitled to their opinion but I think your memory is not correct on this .The **** are you talking about? Schoenberg was a first choice inside midfielder for about 10-15 weeks. He pissed away a golden opportunity to be a long term player.

You are probably right. It’s ashame as I think it’s taken a while for him to mature. Has the physical attributes to make it imoI love Schoey, but I think in this group, he probably missed his window to establish himself as a 1st choice mid. BTW, has anyone noticed many more Crows (the bird) around of late in their area?
Seen far more than normal making plenty of noise.
I'm taking it as a sign...
Seeing Murphy, Borlase and Schoenberg even near a team list is vomit inducing, it is actually a bit messed up that Burgess, Schoenberg, Murphy, 3 of the guys that will highly likely (hopefully) not be offered a contract for next year have been selected in front of contracted players Draper, Nankervis & Edwards - all part the future apparently.
From what I’ve seen the last couple of weeks in the SANFL Draper and Nankervis were more than ready to be back at AFL level, Murphy and Schoenberg over them even in an extended squad capacity is ****ed up…
Obviously you just hope to hell it’s just for travelling emergency reasons that some of these player have been selected and they want the better players to stay home to get full games & not go to Perth.
I am 100% resting Rankine and Soligo for the west coast game, Schoenberg and Pedlar can play in their place
I think he can still make it, I just don't think it will be with us.You are probably right. It’s ashame as I think it’s taken a while for him to mature. Has the physical attributes to make it imo
Agreed, also Rankine has already spent a lot of time in F50 the last 4 weeks. And Soligo's really just getting back up to speed. You don’t need to rest them, just manage their workload on game day.
I wouldn't say he pissed it away. He was ok.The **** are you talking about? Schoenberg was a first choice inside midfielder for about 10-15 weeks. He pissed away a golden opportunity to be a long term player.

It was injury and work ethic . Both are better now. I think he definitely could be good enough but maybe not with us .I wouldn't say he pissed it away. He was ok.
His injury came at an awful time for him, missing a season he would have wanted to become a regular and then others have gone ahead of him.
I doubt he's suddenly going to become good enough though.
Well, I hope he does. Maybe he'll tear it up this week in the mids, and we'll like it, and select him again and play him in the "half forward role for fringe players where you'll suck" role.It was injury and work ethic . Both are better now. I think he definitely could be good enough but maybe not with us .
