Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Sure but Calsher Dear has played 6 games, Mitch Lewis has just come back from his knee and played 4 games, have a variety of other avenues to goal.

They have a demonstrable ability to go out and getting the player(s) they need to win.

The difference to them winning and losing a premiership won't be Jack Gunston (unless they win it this year)

He has won them a lot of games this year off his boot and forward smarts- and doesn't miss. Old school enough not to have mental demons or be a lair and waste opportunity.

Who says the club doesn’t intend on being competitive? Vossy is coaching for coaching life next season, he will want to win. He isn’t going to be tanking etc.

A lot will depend on if we are able to make positive changes to tge list.

I’m not sure Voss is going to be able to extract too much from tge same playing group and if players like Tdk Jack and potentially one or more of Walsh Charlie and H decide tge leave, their replacements aren’t likely to step in and make significant difference …even if they are experienced players they’ll take at least season to adjust and take off.

If you really want someone as offer them a good enough deal it would be hard to say No.
Assistants don't get big money or have much security so the right offer to the right person should get a good hearing.

From memory, there’s only an agreement between clubs to let assistants go if they’re offered a superior role to the one they’re already at ie assistant to senior coach. In reality, these assistants we want would need to currently be out of contact, or be offered an elevated position. Let’s see who we go after…

You are correct but there's plenty of options.
Eg Hickmott is a line coach so could be offered senior assistant role. Etc.

I'm not hating on him. I just believe in their forward line and the players they've got to get back to their best as he fades.

But, does the needle move on Voss at all if we drop the next 3 games? And happen to get a touch up in one or two of them?

The statement from the club is pretty unequivocal and I’d be mortified if the club saw any reason to reverse its position in the next 3 weeks barring some extreme left field development like Voss engaging in criminal activity.

I doubt any player will lay down and not try in protest and if they did then it says more about them than anything else. If anything this announcement should give the players certainty about the near term future to just get on with their jobs.

I think everyone needs to accept Voss is going to be the head coach in day one of the 2026 pre season.

Also said he had heard they are looking at Mackie (Geelong) McKenzie (Hawthorn) and Graham (Fremantle) for roles at the club. Again not sure what this is based on.

I’m the opposite, seriously impressed he and the board didn’t go down the easy route, made sure there was a real thorough review that might end up being brutal, and coolly and calmly made a totally unCarlton like decision.

That can’t be right.

Sooooo, we’re gunna lose 2 guys, (that we can cover) be adequately compensated to get us into the first round of the draft, all the while the current coach (who everyone has dead & buried) is currently blooding youth (!!!!!) for a crack at next season with a full list of players, many who had season ending injuries.
