Left field suggestion, assuming Mihocek leaves for a longer deal at another club.

Is it worth considering Tom Lynch for a year? Considering we’ll be playing chasing a premiership with Pendles, Sidebottom & Howe on the list.

Yes, I know he’s old and injury prone. I don’t think we can go into 2026 with McStay & Membrey as our only KPFs.
My mail is that Checkers is staying

To crush that last bit of hope some people might have, the team is clearly fractured over the list management. Checkers, Elliott and McCreery likely all gone next year.

Easily could refer to, TDK, REID, NASIA etc etc

Do you really think a club would part with 2 x top 10 picks for bobby hill? He has barely played in last 8 rounds with personal issues. No way a club would risk even one high pick on him.
You’re acting as if the “issues” are unresolvable , and far out weight his super talent.
Low balling will be tried of course, but I’m sure we’ll get a fair trade - he’s elite.

Haha “personal issues” that would be resolved by his move back to Perth (if that’s even what he wants) so they don’t actually matter when west coast is valuing him.

With Leppitsche in the chair, and more confident we will finally get full value on our outgoing players.

Hill and Cameron are each worth a top 10 pick on their own, especially in this draft.

We won’t be chasing a flag next year
Then why on earth are we signing Steele, Pendles and Howe for 2026? You don’t want the entire 30+ group to go at once or you fall off a cliff so if a premiership isn’t on the agenda next year that’s terrible list management. I’d also let them know as well because they aren’t going around again for shits and gigs or their super…

hill would be worth a very high top 10 pick or two early 10's by himself.

Wouldn't mind if the club had a look at Jayden Laverde from Essendon, 193cm key defender that can play attacking and lockdown. Has decent disposal reads the play well and has a long kick that can create offence. Won't cost much and is out of contract has a bit of mongrel that will pair nicely with Maynard.
Hi Jayden’s mum, no thanks.

There's a post on Voy that referenced Caro saying that Hine wanted Morris but Fly wanted HDM
Really struggling to process this

I find it hard to believe Hine wanted to draft someone over 6ft tall.

From what I remember Harry was talked up as a mid first rd player. So him at 25 was seen as a slide and a potential steal.

Still doesn’t change our lack of talls plus their age profile. To have someone like Morris available should’ve been seen as a Mihocek replacement.

Can we get actual value for our players for once. Noble has been better than Rioli for GC this year. Somehow Rioli was worth pick 6 and 23, Noble wasn’t even worth the equivalent of pick 23 amongst the 3 way trade.

Then there was the Witts trade years ago where we got 44 and 62. Made no sense when every other young ruck was getting 1st or 2nd rd picks.

Hine would get the last say. He's paid to recruit whilst Fly is paid to coach. Fly would have had some input but he doesn't get the final say.

Watch this space on the West Coast request for support.

AFL wont want to be seen providing compensation to a club whos won a flag in the last 10 years.

Providing them an early pick that has to be traded could be the compromise, opening the door for Cameron getting to the Eagles

Pick 1 and it's done. Why should we entertain pick 10 when it will actually be about pick 16. He's contracted. We'd be better off holding him to his contract and taking the FA compensation pick next year. Especially in a shit draft like this year.

Except he isn’t a FA… both us and his management stuffed up with timing!

Unless we're planning to be
He's a free agent next year isn't he
No - he will have only 7 years of service with the Pies, not the required 8.

He would either need to be moved on via a trade or via the draft.

If we are assuming that WC will be worse than Collingwood in 2026, he could walk for free.

The discussion is around a PP after the non finalists (11) and end of 1R (19). Whether it happens or not remains to be seen but I suspect those picks will be in the Cameron discussion if an trade eventuates.

Even better. Hold him till next year and we'll get a much better player. Next years draft is the real McCoy. This year's draft will require pick 1
