would be extremely ballsy to bring Simpson in off 2 WAFL games against the Lions' dangerous smalls in what is going to be a huge game. JL is generally conservative but every now and then he does something mildly surprising with selection; hopefully that's the case next round.

Wagner in for Dudley probably. A good first year for Dudley but needs to be more involved.

Erasmus can’t be dropped surely. He was super. But what if Young is fit, crikey.

Yep great example.
When he’s bold he’s made some good calls - Simpson at HB earlier this year was one of them, Wagner into the mids another.

Fyfe straight back in last night as sub also a very good call, and he turned the game. That’s the role he should play through the finals series I think.

I wouldn't mind Aish in place of Bana's. Definitely has been the most consistent performer at Peel. Or else Simpson if they think he is ready. Walker was a bit better this week.

It’s awesome for him that he’s not just a pure inside mid anymore - jLo mentioned his new found versatility in the presser last week. He’s really cleaned up his field kicking.

Him and Johnson are fighting for that defensive winger / stoppage supper role.

I wonder if Johnson could take nods spot instead. He’s got the running power.

Sharp I don’t rate - his last afl games were really poor and at wafl he was average. I think his shin has robbed him of a bit and he he will be better next year.

He most certainly is… levels of class and poise in the games I’ve seen that Banners isn’t anywhere near.
Banners try’s hard and is great depth, but Simpson is a significantly more talented footballer.

Ras’ kicking i50 has been very good all season at both Freo and Peel. He makes good decisions both lowering the eyes to hit up someone just inside the 50m arc or a longer kick that is always to the forwards advantage.

Just a shame he can’t kick a goal himself.

Not sure he is a permanent LT winger but can certainly run through that position as game wears on as he has elite endurance.

I wouldn’t mind Wagner on one of the wings if he doesn’t have a run with role assigned to him. He spent a fair bit of time on the wing at Peel yesterday.

Banfield won us the game with a perfectly executed corridor kick against Collingwood.

Sheridan coughs up under pressure, Banfield made some novice backline mistakes, like pushing it out of bounds that wouldn’t happen if he was playing forward. He’s learning on the job and doing quite well.

They are worlds apart, Sheridan never reached any heights, Banfield comfortably a better player.

Dudley and NOD the obvious outs. I'm not a Banfield hater at all but open to him being an out for a specialist back. Perhaps Cooper for the extra run as Sydney did well v Brisbane with their slingshot or even Walks for the Charlie matchup, though CC has been pretty quiet of late.

I'd expect a novice player to push the ball out of bounds under pressure because he's unable to read the state of the game yet.

Banners has been in the AFL system for 8 years and makes choices Murphy Reid wouldn't make after his third game in the club.

He's a panicked player and it could cost us enormously in a high-stakes final.

The players that are in consideration. for coming in over next week are Wags and maybe Simpson or Walker. Duds is out. Fyfe is staying sub so it's looking like Banners goes forward and Wags is back with a few rotations through the wings. Would like to see Simpson back in but not sure if that's in the minds of the coaches rn we are at the business end of the season.

Why would we lose Erasmus? He's been developed perfectly and this is the first time he's actually put it all together at the top level. He will keep his spot and hopefully play finals.
He wants to play for Freo, he just hasn't been good enough till now. Its perfect timing.

Teams have to pay 90% of the salary cap. Griffin Logue got an offer too good to refuse and Erasmus probably will too.

I don't know the numbers but lets say Freo offer Erasmus 2 years at 400k and the Eagles offer 3 or 4 years at 700k where he's a walk up start in their best 22 that's hard to knock back.

We gotta find a way to get Simpson in the team

He's a 2nd year player learning a new role with a handful of games under his belt. Finals really start this Friday night against Brisbane it would be a big call bringing him back after months out to play in big games.

I'd leave him at Peel until round 1 next year. I know Murphy Reid hasn't missed a beat as a young player but he's not 1 out in D50.
