Don’t roast me, but conceptually, would we get much if we tried to trade Moore mid-contract? A great human being but wonder if our future captain is elsewhere and have viewed him as a bit of a liability in the backline lately
Nope, nope, nope. He'll be here until he retires. His father has told him to not leave as he found out it was a big mistake on his part when he left the Pies in the 80's.

EDIT
PS: I was so devasted, I ripped his number off the back of my duffle coat and to make things worse, I ripped a hole in my coat so I was doubly pi$$ed off.

Now hold on a cotton pickn minute. Shanahan looks like he's going to be a gun. We do need midfielders as well though
you are absolutely right about shanahan, but midfielders have to be our no 1 priority. It doesn't matter if you put SOS,fletcher, scarlet (maybe an exaggeration :D) in the one defense, an atrocious midfield will eventually cause any defense to buckle under the pressure.

Forget about West and McCarthy looking good in u-18 Champs

so
2025 : out - mitchell,cox,WHE ?
2026: out- pendles,sidebottom,howe,mihochek
2027: out- elliot,crisp

Would have to think that would likely be our veteran phase out plan

I'd want a future pick to have a crack at trading in a gun at the end of 2026 - I think not getting Rowell is likely to make 2026 a bridge too far for our midfield group - but it won't take much.
personally I want us to get a young mid into our system this year. I am also pretty sure west coast will never entertain the though about trading a future first (would be negligent on their part).

No more trading 1st round picks for established players for some time. Lets just focus on the draft and get it right.

trade hill and DC - get 3 first round picks. draft 3 midfielders, draft mguanne

in 4 new midfielders. give them the chance to be mentored by pendles and sidebottom on field in what will likely be their last year in AFL.

Give naicos a new nucleus for him to work with and build a rapport with.

that is personally how I would like collingwood to do it.

If we can hit on 2 or even 3 of the 4 mids, it will set us up for an extended tilt at the premiership by the time naicos hits 25/26.

“The Collingwood players are so interesting,” Edmund told SEN Crunch Time.
“So much has been said around this space – the disgruntlement and the like. (Scott) Pendlebury, (Steele) Sidebottom and (Jeremy) Howe are all going to stay.
(Brody) Mihocek I think will get there (to re-sign). His management is overseas at the moment, and there is some wrestling over tenure.
Jamie Elliott has been offered a two-year deal but absolutely has the temptation – as he has done in the past – to get back to Queensland where his family are.
“He spent a lot of time there as a child, the Gold Coast actually haven’t got to the position yet where they’ve tabled any sort of offer, it’s just what Jamie wants to do with the rest of his career as a free agent. Two-year offer to stay, I’m told it’s a solid offer.”
Outside of their veterans, the Magpies' star ruckman has caused a stir within the walls of the club, with interest from WA causing a halt in negotiations.

“Then there’s the Darcy Cameron contract standoff, if I can call it that,” Edmund continued.
“If there is some angst in the playing group, I’m led to believe it’s tied to this guy and the empathy for him as one of the most popular players in that dressing room.
“If you are going to say that that playing group has that disgruntlement, it’s pertaining to this, rather than Jack Silvagni. The veterans on that playing list, they love the fact that their club is ambitious to try and get an established player in Jack Silvagni, because it means they’re in the window, and they can keep going.
“If they were restarting again, that would spell trouble.”

Surprise Sam did not have Houston going to Carlton

Lots of 'if's'

If there is some angst in the playing group...

If you are going to say that that playing group has that disgruntlement...

Click, click, click.

Well, there's always a chance that if Dan isn't happy with us that he could ask to be traded to Carlton, then silvagni would stay there.
Wouldn't that put the cat among the pigeons.
Dan would be very happy and would have told Jack that I reckon. Overall been a great season but we’re just all over the place on field ATM. Off field amazing culture.

Jack would get so much out of the rest of his career if he came to us.

Darcy Cameron has signed for a further 3 years

I heard from a WA person, (through my employment) who is in a CEO position within the financial sector in Perth, who came to Melbourne last week for a meeting and "knows" people within the West Coast walls.
He was saying that WC weren't at all confident that they would get anywhere near landing DC about 8 to 10 weeks ago, but that has all changed in the last month. They now feel they are going to be able to have him back in WA next year.
I was one that always said he would never leave, and the club would get a contract agreed with him. I think l even said "take it to the bank". I'm now getting my head around that he is more than likely not wearing a Collingwood jumper next year.
This was a conversation at a work lunch, that went into after work drinks, so drinks were had, lol.
I wasn't going to mention anything about that on here, but it seems to be brewing and discussed and getting frustrating, so here we are...
This person isn't a WC supporter by the way, he still is a Collingwood member (which surprised me) despite re- locating from Victoria to WA with his family to take up a new role, nearly 10 years ago...
Should’ve left it in the bank

I love this post. In the storm of negativity that has afflicted the board this week be the one who can see light.

Walk tall mate. :thumbsu:

Great news about Cameron resigning.
