Lots of 'if's'

If there is some angst in the playing group...

If you are going to say that that playing group has that disgruntlement...

Click, click, click.

Given it's from Edmund I wouldn't intepret it that way

It comes across to me as him speculating on how others have reported that there is disgruntled players in the group and that it was allegedly over Silvagni

Edmund seems to be countering that if anything

“Only offering Cameron 3 years is disrespectful” - Jon Ralph, probably.

Culture at the club is still elite.
The media is going to hate this re-signing....Next the focus will be the disrespect we're showing Pendles by giving him only one year....🤪🤣

Good extension for Cameron, would have loved him at the Eagles but also partly relieved as I’m concerned what our list manager would have been prepared to pay for him.
Still happy to take any Oscar Allen compo off your hands for a ruckman - how’s Cox sound? :p

That one moved quickly based on the reporting! Seems to me that there were some serious conversations post the Hawks loss that pushed forward the schedule.

I’m not 100% behind it because contracting a 30yo for 4 years is a long time unless it’s the Bont. He’s a glue guy though so the reality is if the serious conversations indicated this needed to be done then you do it.

Great news.

Interesting that Pendles was quoted in the news article that everyone has been aware of his situation in the locker room.
yep think their hand was forced to a certain extent. They were firm in their intent for majority of the season, think the build up of locker room tension reached a point where they couldn't afford to drag out the negotiations anymore .

I assume it's 3 years, with next year being the first after both sides agree to tear up old contract? Otherwise I would agree four years is a long time.

Who knows. A couple of months ago it was reported that it was nearly done. The reporting is just so unreliable with the majority of it just being speculation.

Me. As slimy as most journos are they were resolute in the reporting on the DC one as late as 12 hrs ago. There wasn’t a single reporter discussing it being remotely close. My take is it’s hard to be unreliable when it’s coming direct from Colin Young.

Ultimately it’s one for everyone to make up their own mind I just see a general lethargy in the group, constant rumours of unrest, Pendles acknowledging locker room goings on and DC signs out of the blue. Nothing sus there…

Codesports has him signed until 2029. It’s not a biggie either like 95% comfortable with it, but the flip side is if it’s to 2028 I’m more comfortable again.

So you think it was a 2am on Sunday night re-signing?

Look at Gawn, he’s still kicking on as a great ruck at 33-34. No reason DC can’t do the same.

Either way, glad he’s staying with us

It's until 2029 so 4 years including next year.

It takes him until 33/34 in his last season of the contract. For a ruckman, it's not really old. We still have Gawn at 33 as the best ruckman in the comp.

If we still have Mason Cox at 34 on the list, there's no reason Darcy won't be a required player at 33/34.

No. I think it gathered significant momentum over the weekend after Thursday night’s disaster and Edmund hadn’t checked in with Young before jumping on Crunch time. The articke just happened to come out about 12 hrs ago and they were the most recent published comments.
